I've walked into Aldi 4 times, left empty handed 3 times. Needed to buy something urgent (chocolate ) on 4th try - it wasn't any good. But a friend does buy quite nice marinated meat from there.

That's unbelievable.....I guess they can't make money on that but I assume on limited stock it gets people into their stores to buy other things?

Indeed it's a loss leader, they still do make a few points on it anyway, i know the ex-works and landed cost of a few other items they are importing, just pumping the stuff out rapidly and happy with a small profit.

I purchased a 4K TV from them last year, i did not like the picture-quality, not much is telecast in 4K anyway

Took it back, no issues, ALDI do not break your balls with returns

It's German rival is currently hiring, won't be long ALDI Mk.2 aka LIDL opens up here

Yes, 7" screen retracts, so it looks stock(ish). I actually redesigned the whole of the console to move it up and forward, so the screen wouldn't foul the dash. There's only a bit of dash behind it, nothing important. It also moves the AC vents up, so they work a bit better.
