Baldwin sounds like he might not be the greatest father... But Basinger sounds like shes a worse mothere for letting this out in the open as it can only hurt their daughter.
There are no winners but, there is a loser-THE CHILD! I could care less what happens to either of the parents. However, and I say this in almost a whisper to you. There will be a payback and it will be expensive. It will come in old age when KB and AB are alone; very, very alone. What goes around, comes around. Some of us better learn to duck. My best.
Either way. My parent's were excellent and the relationship we had/have has always been a respectful one. But kids, by and far, are a lot different now than when I was growing up. AB's always been a loose canon, I don't much like the guy outside of the roles he plays on the screen, but there are probably three sides to this and I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt here. I personally know some no-brained kids who are selfish little pigs. Then again, I don't like kids much. That's why I don't have them and probably why I'm biased. RMX
I detest AB's views on many issues and think he's a totaly hypocrit, but I've tried to push that aside when looking at this incident. I'm sure that there is another side to this that we haven't seen (and shouldn't), but as the parent Alec needed to step up and be the adult. There's no excuse for him talking to his daughter that way, period. It has been my experience that no-brained, selfish little kids are shaped by no-brained, selfish big parents.
I don't care who pushed who's buttons. That's the way you would speak to someone you just caught breaking into your house. My father was strict. Demanded and earned respect. You learned from his example. My 13 yr. old son wouldn't even speak to a kid on the playground like that.
Excellent! The key word in your post is, Example. We lead by it. We perish by it. Thanks. Very instructive. ]
Anyone remember the last line of Harry Chapin's "Cats in The Cradle?" AB has that to look forward to.
You're in there. To bring hot tears to an old pair of eyes, "my boy is just like me" is the line. My own father did exactly that until the last two years of his life. I took his neglect on myself and drove from PA to his home in MI in a snow storm to be with him when he died. I suppose you should think before you act. The "super glue" of mindless anger tends to be permanent.
I guess you're right. My Brother-in-Law gave me a roll of generic toilet paper " for cheap a**h****." I've been saving it.
