Gold at the paralympics for hand cycling http://msn.foxsports.com/olympics/cycling/story/alex-zanardi-former-formula-one-driver-wins-paralympics-gold-medal-in-16-kilometer-handcycling-time-trial-090512 I bet he never had arms like that when he was driving!
Very cool and very amazing! Hard to find words to praise this achievement enough. Inspiring stuff. Here's a link to another article on his event. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/olympics/paralympic-sport/9523221/Paralympics-2012-Alex-Zanardi-takes-an-emotional-gold-at-Brands-Hatch.html
+1 I wish they'd show more of the Paralympics on the tube TBH - Some truly amazing/inspiring stuff. I'll have to search out some video of him - The (for them) drop from Druids and then back up to Paddock is *steep* - It's a good climb walking, let alone pedalling thru twice! Go Alex! Cheers, Ian
Just saw it on television over here, including an interview after his win. Absolutely and unbelivable great and fascinating! Maybe his biggest win in life. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Black and white blood in this one, no question he was born to race. Quite the movie script awaiting. I'm sure he'll receive a congratulatory note or two from friends in the racing world, hope he has a spare room...
He truly has the heart of a champion; most people would have said "why me" but Al just puts his head down and gets on with it. A lesson for all of us.
