I saw what I think was a Q4 (heading south on 95 in Maryland/Delaware... you?) and it was gorgeous! I didn't think these were sold in the US -- I don't know much about Alfas -- so I'm wondering how many were imported and how much do they sell for? My interest was seriously piqued! Lucas.
There are about 32 164Q models in the USA. AWD was the main difference from the other late 164 models. Otherwise, it has all of the sport options from the 164S and things like Recaro seats. Word is that it is awesome to drive and has incredible handling. Mark
Thanks Mark! Alfa + 32 in the US + 15 years old.. that all makes me want to stay away. Do you know what they go for when they do sell?
There were Q's and Q4's. While Q4's would have to be brought into NA privately and were AWD, NA spec Q's were FWD and replaced the S as the top dog 164 in 94/95, the LS being the standard edition. Both the LS and Q offered 5 spds (auto. an option in the LS alone) but the Q introduced the 24v head rated at 230 hp. There can't be many factory imported Q's running around, I read Alfa sold less than 500 164's (both models) in 1995 alone! I really wanted a Q when I had my Milano Verde, but upkeep and constant repairs on the 75 soured my interest in Alfas by the time I sold it.
Agree. Welcome! I don't know the market prices of a Q4 (maybe 20-30k? I'm told) but my better half owned a 164L with an S engine and Milano w/Verde engine. It apparently drove well and sounded great but it's definitely not for the faint of heart for good ol' Italian knucklebusting repair.
I have always admired the 4 cam motor, and I bought one for the daily commute to work. We will see how it goes.
