I am looking for some input from the crowd here. I have had older cars before and always enjoyed them. I had recently gravitated to newer cars for a number of reasons (not the least of which my wife wanting something more comfy that a GT40 to ride in). I like the newer cars, but they are so good and fast, that one has to be at almost illegal speeds to really enjoy them. I was driving my older porsche this weekend and realized it enjoyed driving it much more that my newer cars.

I want to go back to an older italian, but most of the Ferraris I would like are much more that I would want to spend (ie 330 GTC) at present market prices. I have always had an interest in the older alfas (50s and 60s) and the 1900 CSS has always held my interest. I have local mechanics who can work on the cars. I live in the country and have some wonderful roads to go get lost on and would suite this type of vehicle well. I want something interesting, enjoyable to drive, comfortable for my wife to come along in and potentially eligible for vintage rallys.

I would greatly appreciate anyones thoughts/input.

Steve, what are your thoughts on an Abarth Record Monza? Twin Cam 850, '61, race history etc.

My friend has a very nice one, if that's your cup of tea, it's in the $165K range.

Thanks for the info. I had looked at one of those in the past. Great little cars. I think I would like something a little more "GT".
