Reviews coming in fast and furious now... "It's a car no one else would build but the Italians".... "right now I'd rather have it than a Ferrari" [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2RG7oCUekM0]Alfa Romeo 4C first drive review - YouTube[/ame]

If they don't go crazy with the price and dealerships are sorted out this will be very successful in the US IMO
“Mash the gas pedal and the 4C sounds like Tarzan on top of Jane” 2014 Alfa Romeo 4C Coupe First Drive ? Review ? Car and Driver Car and Driver totally raving about it.

I hope they are wrong about the weight on the US model. If it's over 2400/2500lbs FIAT really screwed up!! I wonder if you can just order it without all the extra options in the USA. Maybe they will make a lightweight stripped down version(for more money like Porsche!!).
Alfa weight claims are probably about as accurate as Ferrari's. MT got a curb weight of 4003 lbs on the F12 they tested. Ferrari claimed quite a bit less. Expect the same from Alfa.
The US curb will be 2380. That's a mistake. Just think logically here. Would it weigh the same as a Fiat 500?
You could strip the paint, pull the mirrors off, remove the glass, rip out the carpet, pull front badge off, remove front vent screens, go with lighter rims.....
Do we know if this is wet weight with AC, Mayor? Either way, 20% over what's been hyped . . . tough adjustment to make on the passion front but it's better than a 2500-2600lbs 4C. (I hope someone imports the tub, or one like it, allowing the diehards to build their dream lightweight.)
Just over 2000 without AC and radio. Needs some aluminum reinforcing of the tub and 2 more airbags for US standards. Gas tank is only 10 gallons! Gets 41.5 MPG COMBINED. Remarkable. AC and radio are included in the US price but you can delete it for Free (as opposed to Ferrari where you have to add it for a price). BTW: The test cars all had AC and radio. So, it's 10% over, not 20 (about 200 lbs). Its not for eveyone. But, they said the same thing about my old 246 Dino Gt in the late 70's through the 80's. That wasn't for everyone either, and neither was the Lancia Statos or the Alfa Stradale.
That is hard to believe - would indeed be very impressive, but is it typical Italian...? Last time I checked the FIAT dealer wasn't taking orders yet. Any updates on that? Jes
Unless it's a mistake: From Autocar My dealer still is clueless. I'm going to check again this weekend. But the LA Auto show is about 6 weeks away so they have to start knowing something. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I read that US launch has been delayed until mid 2014... You guys probably already know. USA Today: Sexy Alfa Romeo 4C's U.S. launch is delayed I have owned Alfas since the early 90s and still have one left - Milano race car. After 1995 it was a joke that they would always be back in 2 years, rolling window... Jes
They've been saying 2nd qtr 2014 for at least 5 months. I think they will start taking official orders in Nov/ Dec but that's just a guess. The kick off is the LA Auto show.
Thanks for the info. A good reason to go to the LA auto show for the first time in years... A while back I did ask my local FIAT dealer to keep me updated on the 4C, but nothing.
I'm probably behind the times, but I'm stuck on the EU version running at around 2000lb. That's how I came up with 20% over for the curb weight you posted, Mayor. Either way, I hope the car and Alfa do well in the US -- if only because that could get us more versions of the 4C and, as someone else posted, a 6C.
