Thanks chaps for your replies. I too haven't managed to get hold of any 8C specific parts or workshop manuals even with some fairly good F and M contacts. I need to have a proper good look at the pedal box before venturing down this rabbit hole. The mechanicals don't worry me, just would like to start with the best donor possible and I think the interior aesthetics will be ok. It's the software where I fall down. I know that currently the engine will not start if the g/box tcu is not connected, nor if the instrument cluster is not connected. I also know that the instrument cluster is not shared with Granturismo (or California) but that is my knowledge so far. Pic of rear bulkhead and g/box tcu for anyone who is interested. And no I didn't write on the TCU, so maybe it is specially flashed for the 8C???

I don’t see the electronics as being much of an issue, especially with the help of @360trev.

Can we get a photo of the pedal box?

I have a Getrag 6-speed manual box from a 1995 Quattroporte 2,8. i believe it is the same as fitted to the 3200GT. These are gearboxes fitted to the engine. Was the 4200 with manual such a box, or dod they use a transaxle like a 550 Maranello. Because the 4200 with Cambiocorsa did have a F1 transaxle unit right?

Maserati 4200 does indeed use a transaxle; essentially the same as the one used in the 360.

I can see from the photos that the 8C uses the same pedal box as the 599/612.

    Really beautiful execution there- bravo!
