For Sale, Alfa Romeo 2600 Touring Spider for Sale #AR191207

I am listing my 1963 Alfa Romeo 2600 Spider for sale. I have owned this car for 45 years. After driving it for two years, I started the restoration and spent the next 30 years working on it in my spare time. It is not a show car, but a very nice, well-sorted driver. It is fitted with the optional three Weber carburetors (45 DCOE-9) on a Weber intake manifold. I made some modifications for safer use in modern traffic, but all of these modifications can be reversed to the original configuration with no signs that they were there. Seats are modern Acura seats and sliders which accept headrests. A bar is mounted behind the seats in a way that allows proper positioning of shoulder belts and, therefore, 3-point seat belts are fitted. This bar is bolted in and can be easily removed. The original seats are included and they are complete but have not been restored. After removing the Acura seats, the original seats will slide right in. One of the pictures, made during the restoration, shows the original seats in the car. When making the new wiring harness, circuits were added for a third brake light (mounted above the license plate), hazard warning flashers and extra relays for high beam, low beam and fog lights. The front turn signals have been modified internally with extra parking light bulbs to show to the side. This car was built in late '62 and is a 'Series 1' and would originally have had drum brakes on the rear but, when I got it in '71, it had been converted to rear discs and Borrani wire wheels. They are not the factory optional narrow Borrani wires that were 400 mm diameter with aluminum rims. These are Borrani center-laced wires 6" X 15" and are all steel. The wheels and the three-eared knock-offs have not been restored and are the weak link. The pictures make them look better than they are, but one picture shows a close-up of the worst one. These are the only wheels I have and there are five of them. Recently, new Borrani reproductions have become available that are the correct size. New two-eared or three-eared knock-offs are also available. Some pieces still have the original chrome (tail light housings and door handles, for example). The interior is done in leather, including the dash. The factory hard-top is included and is complete. A used, spare windshield and differential are also included, as well as tail light housings and lenses, plus various other spares, but I do not have the original tool box. I am in north central Florida, near Gainesville, 120 miles north of Orlando. This link will take you to more pictures: https://www.flickr.com/photos/61197148@N03/albums/72157664801441059

Stunningly beautiful. I'd put this car right up next to the 250 California in sheer beauty.
As close to rolling art as you'll ever see.

Thanks, Harold. If anyone is interested, I prepared a very long write-up telling everything I can remember about the Alfa 2600 Spider over the 45 years that I have owned it. It is very long and will be boring to most people but, I will be happy to send it to anybody who requests it.
    Thanks,
    Larry Bono

A fair price for such a collectible "Big Alfa". GLWS. Agree it is a design right up there with the 250 Spiders and the Maserati 3500 convertible. I guess one could toss the Lancia in there as well. Bella.
