Seems the press rumours of its death were premature - thank God!

Alfa Romeo is still accepting deposits and is showing off a "production-ready" version to potential customers.

    ...it looks just magnificent...!!!!
I think the front end is a stunning piece of design...check the top photograph...!

ALL current Ferraris are ghastly - and NOT IMHO either...!
And have been for a long while...

I thought it would be a long time 'til someone outdoes Fisker and his Aston Martin DB9, but the 8C is incredibly beautiful looking.

It's also tiny (relatively speaking) compared to other sports cars - proof that cars don't need to grow to be sporting.

On another note, I cannot imagine Alfa making any DOT/NHTSA complying models any time soon, including the 8C. The best you could do is to have it registered somewhere else - like Europe. Or just buy it like a painting or a sculpture, and park it in your living room; although that'd be a shame since all Alfas beg to be driven - at least rev the engine a few times a week to hear it (can't do that with paintings)...!

I do hope that car makes it to production.

    wow, nice.

i'm a straight-lines man myself, but have been a fan of the 105 series alfa's, and this looks like a cross between a 105 and an Enzo, so i make exception for visions of beauty such as this. i gotta see it in titanium though. :)

I like them...look like some version of BBS.
Wonder how the "telephone dial" wheels would look on it...?
    or wire Borannis?

    Here are the "original"...

Politics at play - would take away from some Maserati models, so says Luca...
I'll bet if it's ever made, it will be dear - much, much Euros....;(...!

    LOL!!!!!
    A "titanium" Alfa.....LOL!!!!

The only colours appropriate for the gloriuos cars are Alfa Romeo Red, and Milano Blue....anything else is a...mistake...someone switched the paint cans on the paint dude, I figure...

But, all Alfas are great - just have to squint real hard to see the red in that "titanium" colour...it's there - just hidin' a bit...:)...!

The 8C Competizione is actually much closer to the Alfa line than the Ferraris in terms of style, "...the front end recalls the former 33 Coupé Stradale, while the rear sports the characteristic round light clusters of the Giulia TZ..."

Enzo looks like a tawdry copy, IMO...

That's what I gathered. But doesn't FIAT need all the money it can get? Make it a special edition and charge a ridiculous amount of money for it. With that styling and the Alfa name on a supercar, they would have a line around the block.

Unfortunatley the way things are nowdays (costs to develop a brand new car) Alfa/Fiat would not make any money on it - they'd loose millions!

They would probably have to sell 100,000 of them to just break even.
Even though it looks like an absolute winner, I do not think there is enough buyers in the World who'd want to plunk down US$150,000 for it.

...I'm just trhowing numbers around, but I hope the message is still there...
