Since Napolis, will be at Meadowbrook, with the Duesenburg, and he is going to get an 8C, as his new "driver", will the two meet, at the event? Hope so...Enjoy them both!

    Ciao...Paolo

I was VERY happy with the build quality and how they transformed the car from the Paris Show car into a production ready car.

I had a short drive which also made me very happy!

    Congratulations to Alfa!!!

Very encouraging and heartening. You had mentioned some months ago before that ergonomics were not a challenge for taller folks in the prototype. How did you find the production coupe with regards to space, headroom and seat adjustment for more 'American' sized males ?
I really want Alfa to succeed, and being a very long time Alfisti would sell body parts for this car if I would fit. :)

    Hi

I'm 6' 1" and weigh 185. I found the interior quite roomy. The fitted luggage is a nice touch and includes a super briefcase.

The option choices are very cool as well.

It would be a great $75,000 car...but, with the price Alfa is asking their return to the USA won't last for long IMHO...

The car will sell for north of 200K msrp and immediately trade for 200 over that. Less than 90 will come to the US. Anyone who is lucky enough to get one at msrp will be getting a huge gift. With 450+ HP and very lightweight Carbon Fiber it is FAST. The available options are really cool as well as is the special paint. The gearbox is the fastest F1 I've ever experienced. They also will offer very interesting and unique interior leathers. Fantastico!

I believe you 100% that the 8c is a great car. But, Alfa has claimed that they plan to use the 8c as a steeping stone back to the US market. I think that is a bad idea...the Italians do not understand USA marketing 101 IMHO. Alfa left a bad taste in the USA when it left in the early 90s and to come out first thing with only a $200k car is a bad move IMHO. Sure they will sell to 90 folks who can afford a $200k toy, but that will not be the demographics of a viable future Alfa market. Look at the current Alfa buyer demographics in Europe and Asia..they tend to be the same people that buy Jap economy cars that want something a little sportier and/or different and opt for an Alfa. Alfa is a volume car manufacturer, not an exotic car maker...at least it hasn't been since the 30s or 40s. If Alfa wants to succeed in the USA it must bring out a Miata beating Spider as well as a few Honda beater commuter cars fast...otherwise, 90 buyers will get the great 8c and and the brand will leave the USA shortly thereafter...

The car is fantastic... the headlights are a little too busy, and look like they were hastily arranged... but besides that, teh car is a styling home run...t he paint is fantastic... and the f1 transmission technology has come so far that Jim says its the fastest he's ever driven... impressive. It's unfortunate that his car is going to be such limited production... I'm sure this car could easily outsell the Ferrari F430.

When Alfa left in the early 90's... there left a huge gap in the market that has only garnered more hunger for them to return... just looking at how enthusiastic the Alfa clubs in the US really are.. I'm sure we'll begin seeing more and more of them... time will tell

I believe part of the headlight assembly is the washer.

    Jim,

Any news on whether carbon ceramic brakes will be offered as an optional extra?

Cheers Jim, alls well with mine as i hope with yours :)

Last time i talked to my contact at Alfa UK they were hoping to develop the carbon ceramic brakes and offer them to customers late this year. Nothing confirmed however.

Lets hope so, be a shame to have gone this far and not to, especially for those of us who actually use these cars.

Otherwise, i imagine theres a market there for the aftersales guys.

That's still a bit premature...Alfa has yet to announce any dealers.

It is my understanding that Alfa dealers will be built out of the current Maserati dealer network. Allocation: I'm told that the "dealer network" has a list already... be prepared to pay an exuberant amount extra on the open market if you aren't on that list ;)

Yes, it is true that Alfa intially wants to pair up with Maserati dealers but not all Maserati dealers will be Alfa Romeo dealers. I'm sure "somebody" has an idea where the Alfa dealers will be located but they have yet to tell that to anyone.
