I saw this car for the first time in person at the CI in Monterey this year (dark blue). I was in awe. It is a beautiful jewel of a car. I also read the recent feature on it in Sports Car Market. I didn't find very many pictures on the web that were small enough to post here. But here are some links to pictures. anyone have any personal experience w/ this car? This car is not to be confused w/ the more common Giulietta Sprint Speciale.

I had one in college for a while. Very nice looks, great fun to drive, somewhat underpowered (of course I was coming form a Fuelie Vette....). Rust is a major issue with these cars; no replacement body parts exist. Mechanicals are no problem to replace. Very sexy in a compact package!

Bryan, I too was smitten by that blue SS. I've always been an admirer and can easily see one of these in my garage. They are very undervalued. I believe they all came with the Veloce engine, but don't seem to be as highly valued as the much more common (relatively) Sprint Veloce.

My dad used to own a red one in Italy in 1966.He had it for about 2 years and sold it when he migrated to Australia.I only found this out about 6 years ago when I had my Alfa spider I entered it in a concours show and took my dad along and there was one there and he told me he used to own one. When we went back to his house he showed me the pic of it.The only pic he had was when he got married and he used it for his wedding car.If I find the pic I will scan and post it.I loved that car and would like to add one to my stable one day. They are worth around $40K USD if you can find them. What are they worth in the US?

In 1996 we took the Fiat coupe down to Italy and were cordailly invited to attend a local classic car club meeting.

    Two Giula SS's were attending.

The guy in the second picture was the original owner of the car. Unfortunately he had a couple of glasses of wine too many during lunch and he hit the tree that you see in the picture when he backed out of the parking spot. No serious damage to the car luckily.

Cmon, Bryan, don't be a pansy!

Actually, the more you look at this up close, the scarier it gets - 3 colors, apparantly underwater, engine removed,...

May be in DC next week and try to look at Dopple's 512 - will give you a call.
