I heard from a local dealer that QVs are not selling at all. Declining already?? Cant be due to bad weather, can it? It it normal for a new model to see 40% drop from peak within its launch year?

Similar to other Countries around the World, sales are being 'lost' to its sister model - The Stelvio. 2017 USA Alfa Romeo Stelvio sales:- Jun - 2 Jul - 99 Aug - 203 Sep - 329 Oct - 434 Total - 1067
So Alfa is <10k a year brand in the usa so far. What is the goal for the stelvio in terms of sales per month? 1000?
The people here at Scottsdale Alfa are asking $3800 over MSRP for the incoming '18 QF. I told them they are nuts, maybe people are still paying that around here. They are offering 0% financing on the non QF models which is an ominous sign 5 months into the launch.
Thought one of you guys might be interested in this Ebay auction. Giulia quad engine and transmission for a steal of a price. The dismantler names it a Giulietta! I am not affiliated with the auction. They also are parting the rest of the car. I am amazed at the attention my qv gets. it is a pretty hot car to look at and a real brute to wheel!!
I ended up buying the optional carbon fiber steering wheel. I paid $199 for it. it was obviously involved in a crash as it did not include airbag and the horn hub. it appears to be in otherwise great shape. question...is this wheel able to be used again or did I buy something a bit too hastily? if it is reusable, what are the steps to having it fixed and added to my car? will the radio controls, start button and the other stuff sync with the old or is this a bad move to try to change out my leather wheel for the carbon one?
Two Giulia 2.9 Turbo engines up for sale on Ebay from crashed cars already. The other parts are really cheap compared to new and they look to be in good condition. Can't go wrong at these prices. I really hope the Quad 2.9 starts to sell a lot better as it has a great motor. Not in love with the Giulia TI's 4C motor at all. If they put it in the little 4C that would be a lot of power for that car over it's current motor. My 3.6 V6 ATS is faster than a Giulia TI 4C now and it sounds better.
some interesting comments...as far as pricing on remaining 17 QV cars....it seems to be very regional and frankly dealer dependent. my brother lives in the Bay area and the dealers there were asking way over MSRP in some cases...some at MSRP...now with the 18 QV getting released some dealers are offering nice discounts if they have one in stock....many 18's were ordered prior as people held off because of equipment add-ons for 18's and because they wanted to see the electronic bugs worked out... as far as 0% financing...I call that smart as the cars don't lease well because of untested residuals.....bought one of my M-cars with 1.9 once....Alfa/FCA need to get behind the car with monetary deals that will entice people.... and yes the Stelvio is around in earnest and will probably steal some Giulia sales....have seen a few in my neck of the woods already.... as a whole the auto industry took it on the chin the last few months...more losers than winners...I can't speculate as to why, but those were the sales numbers reported seemed only light & heavy trucks saw growth in Oct.
From everything I have read the 2.0 Giulia is faster in 0-60 and 1/4 mile vs the 3.6l ATS. I had an ATS 2.0 and I loved that car, handling and steering were 2nd to none. Again from what I have read the Giulia tops the ATS in speed and handling at this point.
Giulia is tops:- Giulia QV vesus Cadillac ATS-V 0-60 MPH: 3.6 / 3.9 seconds 0-100 MPH: 8.1 / 8.8s 0-160 MPH: 24.2 / 28.8 seconds ¼-Mile @ MPH: 11.9 @ 121 MPH / 12.2 seconds @ 117 MPH https://www.caranddriver.com/comparisons/alfa-romeo-giulia-quadrifoglio-vs-bmw-m3-cadillac-ats-v-mercedes-amg-c63-s-comparison-test-final-scoring-performance-data-and-complete-specs-page-6
I am talking about the 2017 ATS 3.6 with 335 hp and 3461 lbs compared to the Alfa Giulia 4C TI with 280hp and 3360 lbs. I saw a auto magazine test for the Cadillac ATS V6 with a 0-60 in 5.4 seconds. All the Giulia tests are done by Alfa. Both cars are 8 speed automatics available with paddle shifters. Time to take this to a drag strip Just kidding, but maybe the Alfa Giulia's answer is coming in 2019 with the hybrid 4C 350hp motor. Amazingly the Cadillac has better handling. I have driven both.
The Irish also favour the Giulia. "Alfa Romeo Giulia wins double at Irish Car of the Year awards" https://www.carkeys.co.uk/news/alfa-romeo-giulia-wins-double-at-irish-car-of-the-year-awards
Motor Trend got 5.1 seconds 0-60 out of the Giulia, out of a 8 car car comparison the Alfa took 1st place, http://www.motortrend.com/cars/alfa-romeo/giulia/2017/alfa-romeo-giulia-bmw-330i-audi-a4-mercedes-benz-c300-cadillac-ats-jaguar-xe-lexus-is-200t-volvo-s60-comparison/
As Rags747 points out, Motor Trend posted faster times than C&D for the Giulia. Times closely matched. Data from Car & Driver:- 2017 Giulia 2.0T (280 BHP) vs. 2017 Cadillac ATS V6 (335 BHP) 0-60 MPH: 5.5 / 5.6 seconds 0-100 MPH: 14.1 / 14.2s 0-120 MPH: 22.7 / 23.0 seconds ¼-Mile: 14.1 @ 100 MPH / 14.2 seconds @ 100 MPH
Well that will all be mute when Alfa comes out with the 350hp hybrid Giulia in 2019. That should make it alot faster 0-100km/62 mph and still be a lighter weight 4C turbo although the batteries will be heavy in the trunk. I do love V6's a lot. I really want a 2.9 V6 Giulia, so maybe I will buy one next year if they hold up in reliability. I think it will although a manual would also be great.
