USGP West Auto Delta F1 testing with press and driver GTV6's in the background. This is around the time Mario Andretti was gifted a GTV6 from the factory, wich he kept for many years. The wagon and truck were used to haul pasta for Chitti's lunch :)

Hilarious Chiti reference. Mario has a great story about Chiti literally eating the team's lunch during an engine change between practice sessions....

Eight years of ownership and the GTV6 looks and drives as well as ever.. I scored a nice set of 16" Borbet rims last year, they'll get fresh Yokohama ADVANs in a few weeks for countryside driving.. looking forward to a fun summer.

Nice shots. I have mine torn apart now, number #210. Hope to have it done next year so I can start a new project. I see you are building a nice collection of cars. I am looking for another old Maserati or Alfa. Right now is still not the time to buy unless you are buying a car that is newer and bottoming out like a Ferrari California or Maserati 4200. I figure 2025 might be a good year for buying again!!

You'll be amply rewarded when your Balocco is ready for a drive. If you decide to keep the 2.5 the sound is better than a 3.0. Mine has mild upgrades to swaybars, springs, shocks, brakes and a separate set of track-dedicated tires to make it trackable without losing ride qualities and it remains road legal. I need some upholstery work, and that Balocco red/black vinyl piping seems impossible or fleeting to find.

What vintage or models you are looking for? What have you already owned? Avoid the market. Stay open minded and interesting cars are often found off the beaten track, or your personal network..

You probably know - surf the Maserati forum here on FChat and you'll find a very active, dedicated and helpful community. Make friends, ask around or PM me.

Thank you for the compliment on our collection. It's been 22 years, although I've been in the hobby for about 40. As a rule our cars are all bought privately. I never thought I'd be in this position, but I now have guys I've known as mentors and friends for years, who are calling to sell to us.

    Cheers,

Latest call came from the owner of this lovely Italian market Fulvia Rallye. Unrestored early '67 with alloy hood, doors and trunklid. And it has a road-feel and driving quality like no other FWD I've driven. Lancia at its best.

Don't want to say the vehicle, but a late 1960's or 1970's Maserati or Alfa to add to my collection if they get reasonable again, wich they will. I also paint and restore as a hobby for myself only. I just finished this one last year. Could be SPA 24 1970 or the Chicago area in 2023 :) I do have the SPA Carello driving lights and frame, but it looks ugly I think on the car.

Just found this good video of a restored Luigi GTV6 at SPA. It might have an exhaust suppressor, but it sounds pretty loud.

The owner and driver of the Luigi Alfa GTV6 in the above video contacted me on facebook. Turns out he was the engine/gearbox mechanic on one of the 1983 and 1984 Luigi SPA cars. He found his car 10 years ago and restored the car himself. Great story!!

Not a GTV6, but a big bore Busso 24 valve Alfa 75. They replaced the GTV6 in the FIA Group A championship with a turbo or the 3.0 Busso motors, and were heavier and less aerodynamic, but still sounded great and had the same suspension. They did not come with a 3.9 Busso 24 valve, but the 12 valves I think sound better... Well after hearing this 75 I wonder!!

When they stopped production of the 4 cylinder and the 6 cylinder Busso FIAT officially killed Alfa Romeo. The new cars are more like BMW's than old Alfa's, and also more reliable. I have both new and old Alfa models.

More Busso V6 noise. If this has not sold you yet you are either def or like the sound of diesel trucks and Porshe turbos:p
