First to be show at Villa d Este in Italy and then Pebble Beach... V8 with 480 HP minimum , 6 Speeds, all carbon fiber Very very light car may be 800 Kg I have photo but my photos allocation is full
This was announced in 2003... http://www.italiaspeed.com/news_2003/news_2003_122sportiva.html The version you speak of was announced over a year ago. To bad they didn't stuff an Enzo engine into it as they spoke of in 03.
I also hope that the new car will be befitting of the TZ name...but fear that it'd just another marketing exercise. For a starter, I highly doubt that anyone would seriously contemplate using a tubular chassis! The 8C, the Brera and the Mito all show (IMO) that Alfa can design and build gorgeous modern cars.
Just curious if this car was developed with Messr. Bogaerts or with Jack Habits, or did you have any input as to its gestation?
this picture is actually the Zagato Perana with a Corvette V8 engine: http://www.autoblog.com/2009/03/03/geneva-2009-zagatos-perana-z-one-is-desire-in-motion/ no news on a TZ3 yet......but who knows maybe they will be showing something at the Geneve Show 2010 ?
I cannot post today the photos of the car as I don t have the permission, I will as soon as I have the green light
Sorry to stray off-topic, but it's interesting to compare the Zagato Perana with the Bertone Mantide (both corvette-based). While neither is stunning, one is clearly a more pleasing design than the other. Yes, and there is a third that should be added the Iso Marella, also designed by Zagato. Marella Zagato is Piero Rivolta's daughter, Both Marella and Andrea run Zagato. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Bogaerts was one of the investor approch to finance the TZ3 but like many times, talking is easy. Opening the cheque book is more complicate.
That Zagato is one of the best looking cars Ive seen in over a decade...just gorgeous (except for that one inlet in front of the front wheels) I wish Ferrari could design something like that
That last couple of photos are probably more in line with what the next Ferrari Zagato will look like, not the Alfa. Atleast it is getting more of a classic Kamm tail now, more Zagato than the last all rounded tail. Tom Tanner/Scale Designs/Ferrari Expo 2010 model/photo contest-Chicago april 24th 2010
BMW Press Release: The future on parade at the 2010 Concorso dEleganza - Concept cars set to deliver an exciting competition (...) Alfa Romeo TZ3 Corsa, Zagato (2010) With Alfa Romeo midway through its centenary year, Zagato adds its voice to the celebrations with the TZ3 Corsa a symbol of the historical cooperation between the two brands. The idea of utilitarian beauty is rooted in a philosophy of functionality and inspired by the tradition of motor racing shared by Zagato and Alfa Romeo since 1919. The TZ3 is the latest Zagato creation to be given its world premiere at the Concorso dEleganza Villa dEste.
Just realised where they must have gotten the inspiration for the backend of the Bertone Mantide in that last pic you posted. Image Unavailable, Please Login
