I see those numbers as a good and being an Abarth owner (which I think is a blast to drive) maybe more interest will help with the terrible resale values. Though in all fairness the MKVll golf is in early production and GTI (which make up the majority of sales in the U.S) just started trickling into dealer in June and they are have production issues down in Mexico. The new GTI is really not even in the same league as the other cars listed. VW did an amazing job with that car, I am waiting for the 2 door with the performance pack myself. The Mini is fun as well but a lot of what made the Mini (I had a 02 S) unique when it came out seems to be missing in this version. At least that is the way I see it. I think the bigger is issue is that Alfa is unproven and when you are talking about a car for 22K many people can overlook that at 70K it gets a lot harder.

Great idea. Alfa will however do everything it can to **** it up.

    Delayed.
    Overweight.
    Poor quality interior.
    Too expensive.
    Old tech.
    etc..

The 4C will destroy a Boxster over a mountain pass and on any twisty road you care to mention. It has a better power to weight ratio, stiffer chassis and less weight to carry around.

There is no way the Boxster driving experience can be called anywhere near as pure as the 4C.

I would suggest you take a 4C around a few corners and spend some time driving one because its got Ferrari magic alright.

I speak from experiencing the 4C myself.

Yes a boxter is very bland to drive, much like many a modern ferrari. But read the evo comparison between the cayman GTs the 4c and the lotus. the 4c falls in the modidle between the two and not ina great way.
We allw anted the 4c to be the next great thing. In soem ways it is, but in otehrs the execution seems unfatomnably flawed< from what we read.

A two liter turbo putting out over 300 hp in the 4 c makes more sense...

The 6 c? Hopefully it will be cool.

Just not sure why Maserati and Alfa need derivatives....

American hellcat version for dodge makes more sense as a Maserati derivative to absorb tooling costs....

Hard to see Maserati and Alfa be different enough to justify two Italian coupes.....

Maybe one of the two Italian brands should get a sexy barely useful (for adults) 2 + 2 derivative off the same coupe chassis...

With the right high performance power plant it could fly in the marketplace...

Very few people actually use the rear seats in the various 2 plus 2 coupes but sexy styling with rear doors could be a nice differentiation as long as it offers showcar style and a decent competing pricing to the German 4 door coupes...

Just my two cents as the coupe market with 2 doors is small and the high demand life cycles are short

Btw a small cuv in the Macan vein would offer tremendous volume potiential and profitability.....

I'd prefer 2 and or 4 door coupes but the market has spoken....

Volume for Porsche will show the Macan segment as essential for a strong business plan.

    Jmo

Alfa should go after 2 series, three and four series segments with slightly better pricing, better performance Italian style.

Let Maserati go after 5 series, 6 series and 7 series segments....

Share platforms with American powered and styled derivatives makes more sense.

Makess snese a lighter powerplant. Maybe one that sounbds good too. But right now as it standfs there is not even 250hp. Mercedes turbo 4 is 350hp.
