The new tipo 952 Maserati based Alfa sedan will be released on June 24th 2015 according to M. The photos are not from Alfa. Date new Alfa Romeo announced by Marchionne | AutoEdizione.com
The 952 is based on a completely new platform (codename Giorgio), not Maserati based. It's just dressed with chopped up Maserati body panels for the time being, since tooling to make the final body panels is not ready yet.
Would you happen to know the wheelbase and what type of motor they are testing?? It looks like it is between 2700-2800mm. The body panels fit on a Ghibli 2998mm Ghibli platform, and they look cut down by a few hundred millimeters. Any other info on the platform??
Alfa Romeo Giulia Likely Debuting Mid-2015 The new model will be revealed to help celebrate the 105th anniversary of the brand, and will ride on the new rear-wheel drive Giorgio platform set to also be used by Chrysler and Dodge cars in the future. Under the hood, it will feature a truly ferocious 3.0-litre biturbo V6 engine straight from the Maserati Ghibli. This engine is built by none other than Ferrari and in Giulia Cloverleaf guise, is expected to produce between 480 hp and 520 hp. Whichever of those power outputs is chosen, the car will be significantly more powerful than the 425 hp M3. Reports indicate that the range-topper will weigh less than the M3 and consequently reach 100 km/h in less than 4 seconds! Mated to the engine will be a dual-clutch transmission with a limited-slip differential helping to ensure the best possible handling and acceleration. Elsewhere, the Giulia will be available with a selection of 4-cylinder diesel and petrol engines. Alfa Romeo coming up with Giulia the new 3-series rival of BMW been spotted testing
No, unfortunately I do not know that kind of detail. I see that the body has been both narrowed and shortened, and even then the track looks quite a bit narrower, but other than that my guess about exact wheelbase and track is as good as yours. There is great secrecy surrounding the Giorgio platform, both outside and inside the Company; apparently they adopted a need-to-know policy, where information is revealed only to people who are directly involved with the project (the "skunkworks team" based in Modena, in an unmarked industrial building near Maserati Corse). More information will likely leak out in the next months, as more people from other branches of the company, and external suppliers, get involved.
Thanks for the information. Here is a picture of the 4C Spider with what looks close to US trim. Alfa Romeo 4C Spider: pronta al debutto! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Not sure if anyone saw this 4C with a bulge taped up in front of the rear wheel. Could it be a high performance version?? Alfa Romeo testing new technique in ?Scudetto? | AutoEdizione.com I wonder how long before we have a 400 hp 4C Corse version And more Alfa/Maserati/Ferrari details........ Those sales predictions for Alfa are pretty funny. Come to think of it, so are the Maserati figures. Only one will over achieve, Ferrari with over 10,000 sales now that M has his hands on it!! http://www.autonews.com/article/20140915/OEM02/309159956/sell-grow-ipo-marchionne-ponders-ferraris-future# Image Unavailable, Please Login
alfa is hopeless. I was just at the manhattan, nyc fiat dealer which is right next door to an unrelated Maserati dealer. they both are fighting over alfa rights and neither knows when it will be decided! its almost 2015 and still fighting over whos going to sell them? omg alfa, not the way to erase all the bad memories
The new vents in front of the rear wheels are to help cool the transmission. All of the US spec cars should have it.
Expect delays The Next Generation Of Alfa Romeo Sedans Is Coming Next Summer By the way the 4C's are now showing up on showroom floors around the country.
They have arrived in North Texas as well. The Fiat/Alfa dealer in Fort Worth had one arrive last weekend, the dealer in McKinney north of Dallas has one due on December 5th. Also, Fiat/Alfa of Austin had one delivered last week. It is getting some local attention, but with such small numbers coming to the US, I suspect this will be their 15 minutes of fame. They will be tucked away for limited use and rarely seen. Also, we may be well into 2016 before we actually see any other vehicles here. So, I will keep the 164 running and enjoy it while I can.
