Are you sure that 235k price didn't include VAT? 300k seems quite high, even for an immediate delivery vehicle... that's a lot more than MSRP.

They aren't the only ones to have an 8C and a MiTo together...

Yes, the MiTo's specced as close as possible to the 8C. I'm that sad :D

They had the price on a display stand.
And yes the numbers are right. The VAT
is around 40k euros on top of base price and options.

It has a Ferrari Engine on a Maserati chassis. Sound familiar? I guess servicing it won't be an issue.
The only reason it costs more is because it has very limited availability and it has a carbon fiber body. Unless Earl Scheib invests in an autoclave, fixing dings on it might be where the challenge lies.

Whats with the a-pillars on the spider?

Why make every other line flow coherently, then ruin the entire effort with that sort of design?

I noticed that too. The Pillars are black so as to match the black canvas top when closed.
I actually think it is a good design statement.

I didn't mention color, I speak of the shape and size of the pillars/windshield surround. The proportion there seems off...

Also, the car looks tall and bloated in some pictures, which is a shame.
This general shape/detailing on a "1970s size" chassis with wheels of a sane dimension would be far more pleasing to behold.

Though I guess none of the manufacturers care about these criticisms, the California and 599 also suffer the same fault of being far bigger than their shape and details would lead you to believe, leading to a look reminiscent of acromegaly.

So are there 500 cars being produced worldwide?

Any pictures of the 'Giulietta Spider'-like light blue car?

i was on the list for the 8c spyder for switzerland. originally i was told that the car would be about 250k chf, or about $220k. then when i was invited to meet and pick out the options etc i was told that it would be 330k chf and with the options i wanted (not many) 370k chf or about $350k at that time.
i was a bit shocked. initially i thoguth about it and even tried to flip the car to the ferrari dealer - who was going along with me until even his saudi friends flaked on the deal at that price. i passed. (btw, the alfa guy at the meeting was perhaps one of the most unwarrantedly arrogant people i have met - the ferrari dealer was appalled).

now there are numerous examples for sale here with delivery miles offered below list.

too much money for what it is. i like it, and would have paid 220k, but not 350k sorry.

I agree. The prices of many cars have become stupid and many potential buyers will simply say "No".

I also saw a very nice soft top convertible Alfa model whose name I can't remember. I think it was a numerical name like "225 ...". It looked very sharp.

Anyway it will be nice to see some of these more affordable Alfa models in the US whenever that happens.
