I had Algar do a PPI on a 348. The car was a '95 and the compression and leakdown came back at all cyl's 185 comp. and 2% leakdown. I was new to 348's at the time so I didn't know better. Those would be great numbers for a BRAND NEW 348 with 0 miles. I found a couple other comments about them but can't find the threads anymore. Seems everything they PPI comes back with unsualy "good" comp. and leakdown numbers. I came to find out later the service writer was related to someone at the selling dealer. Coincedence?? maybe just wanted to see if there were any other similar stories

Do you any reason to believe those figures are not correct?

They certainly would not match the condition of the car, nor the fact that it had 13k miles and had never had a major service or even a record of an oil change.

I have heard extremely good things about Algar, and would contend they have an outstanding reputation -- probably about the highest among FNA dealers.

I have no personal experience with Algar as of yet, however I have heard great things when I occasionally run into a local F-car owner. When I am able to purchase a pre-owned F430, I will most certainly trust them with my business.

Although I don't do business anymore with them for other reasons (having to do with my relationship with the owner of the dealership, which is not something I am going to delve into here), I can nonetheless say that the service dep't- Mark Cedrone, Tony, the chief wrench, etc. are all top notch guys- they sold to me and serviced 6 Ferraris of differing types and vintages over the years, including used cars, performed PPIs, refreshing of older cars, etc. They never encouraged me to buy an unnecessary part- indeed, they often were able to repair, or rebuild, rather than replace. I would trust them implicitly, and this is coming from someone who is not really a 'fan' of Algar anymore for other reasons.

My father has used Algar for service and purchased from them and they have been nothing short of amazing! They are always willing to go out of their way. Recently we have been shopping for a sedan and with their maserati's their service was great as well. Tony while he has never had to do anything "major" on our car since we owned it has done routine maintenance and been awesome as well. Others will chime in, but if they are the numbers the service department gave you they will stand by them!

The store has had an outstanding reputation from coast to coast with the insiders of the Ferrari business for many years.

We got our TR from them. Great business dealings in every way.

    Yup, Algar is fantastic.

Mark Cedrone has been working there for a million years.
Francis/Rick in sales are two very nice and hospitable guys. The dealership always does what it can to make you feel confortable and never out of place. Although my dad hasn't bought a Ferrari from Algar since '89-'90, everytime we walk in, they treat us great.

    I'd definately recommend Algar.
