I'm still deciding and seeing if I can hitch a ride with a truck coming from Sydney. If I go, I'll probably take the M5 as I'm curious to see how it will handle the high speed stuff.

Who else is coming? Dingo, you sound confirmed. Pap, are you locked in? Any other cars coming? Ash, are you coming for the ride? Anyone else? Stephen, Gekko, Scud, Cam?

Unfortunately, at this point in time I'm out. Am in the middle of planning a NZ trip, gotta work that out with work first. I will still be considering it. But then I'm only there if there is a seat.

I can't see a reason why I won't be coming, great excuse for a few days off work and a nice setting to take some photos. :)

I've already had a go at him about it.....

Mark, you know that since yours isn't delimited (I assume) you'll be left behind by the other M5's......so it might pay to bring the SE instead. :p

    I know, I know.... :)

Of course, if there were some F430s along, it might be shamed into doing something different. But I am keen to try something new too.

scud was the one going on about drag races that he'd win in the F430, looks like he has chickened out upon hearing you got an SE. Gekko must be scared too.....

(subtle attempt at tempting scud and gekko to come along)

It just goes to show how well all the planets lined up last year.

Despite all the publicity, only Pap and a few BMW owners can be bothered coming along this year. I've re-posted on the AMG section at MBWorld and not a single nibble. The only real problem last year was stone chipping caused by overtaking and close running. It'll be better sorted this year with a decent spacing strategy and no high speed overtaking (well, not of each other anyway :D).

MOTOR are keen to come again and are seeing what they can find. I've told them it has to be fast enough to keep up this time, like an RS4 or a CLS 55 to keep the M5s company.

yeah I'm at a bit of a loss to explain the lack of interest this year, what a perfect opportunity to explore your cars performance on the road in a legal way.....all in the company of other like-minded people.

I think it may be a good idea to have MOTOR involved again, initially I was against it but given the situation I say lets bring them onboard.

We still have a few avenues (as discussed in the other forum) left so lets hope they bring us a couple more cars.

However in the end I think even with a small number of cars it will be a blast again, Yamaha R1 v V10 M5 is something I wanna see! :)

Reminds me of yesterday heading to the hotel from the airport in a taxi doing 200 clicks. If only we could do that in Oz. The drivers here are savvy...need to be I guess if they want to live longer. Back home though, most drivers would need heaps of education/training to drive at those speeds.

You cant put a price on hanging out with good blokes like mark and ash and thawn and yss the like.

    But overal im financialy secure

i rekon goobs would strap me to the bonnet.

then he would realise that he dosent want scratch marks on his car and tie a rope around my feet and then to the tow eye on the back of the car and do 275+Kph

I think the rollcall was intended for last years participants and newbies who have an appropriate car......not passengers at this stage.

obviously, if they find out they'll let him run free......if they don't know about it he'll be in jail.

o dear god it is SO frustrating trying to get anywhere out of the suburbs around adelaide... we were coming back from the barossa today, no fewer than 15 times were we stuck behind cars that do 20 UNDER the speed limit, it totally kills the buzz of driving through the adelaide hills, you just want to shoot them, every 2 or 3 kms there's a "SLOW VEHICLE TURNOUT" sign and a part of the road they can move over to briefly to let the 20 cars behind them pass, but no, these fuc*wads just continue straight past them, oblivious or uncaring that they are affecting the lives of others.

    put them down i say.

I had a slowcoach ignore the Slow Vehicle Turnout sign on me on Bull Creek Road a few weeks ago despite me being behind with xenons on for several km. I decided to give him a full noise overtake for good measure at the next opportunity. Judging by the way he wobbled in the rear view mirror, he noticed me at last. :)

I especially like it when this type of motorist waves his arm to show his appreciation of my driving skills and flashes his lights to wish me godspeed.

how about you have a word in scuds ear and convince him to come along, then you have a seat guaranteed. ;)

You obviously know him well, work your magic.
