Strange! Not sure I'd call it speech though, but very weird non-the-less.

Do you ever watch "The Universe" on History Channel? It's really fascinating and now it's on DVD.

Ditto, I'm sure there is life in other galaxies, though probably not in our's; or at least not in our solar system.

Actually, the Earth is nothing special when compared to the Universe. Billions of galaxies with billions of stars and probably billions of solar systems.....I'm sure we're not alone!

Life in the Milky Way was described by a scientist like this:

Think of the Milky Way as a 10 ft by 10 ft by 10 ft room. This room is packed full of the little tiny lights one would fine on a Christmas tree and each light represents a solar system. The room is completely packed with them. Now think that only 20 lights at any one time are lit. This represents life in that solar system, not necessarily intelligent life, just life. Now think what the probability is that two of the lights are next to each other. That represents two closest solar systems where travel might be possible, but only if light speed could be achieved. This is why alien contact is probably not going to happen even if we are not alone. The probability is so very small we would be close enough to make the trip.
