joie de vivre = joy in life joie de vivre + Ferrari = NNO's post count. If someone rains, nay, pisses and horsesh!ts on his parade, that someone should fully expect to have the horsesh!t flung squarely in their direction. The **** hit the fan all right, a Ferrari fan. To top it off, NNO is an artiste. That's why he's here.
*******, how do I always manage to miss out on the good stuff on here... I was surfing F-chat all morning too until my meeting at 12:30pm...
Like the maggot-ridden beef curtain of a murdered whore's corpse, i wouldn't be able to keep a straight face if i ever looked at you; you're some pile of steaming dog sh_t to sit there and judge me, like you know me, like you're better than me, like your sh_t doesn't stink... My choice of language doesn't make me sick, bitter, socially bankrupt or devoid of a decent upbringing, it just means that my language is foul; don't like it...? Suck on a dirty, AIDS-infested monkey c0ck and put me on ignore... --------------------- ACTUALLY, ANDREA WAS READING THIS THREAD, IN PAIN AS SHE IS IN FROM THE OPERATION.....SHE RECEIVED MORE PAIN AND DIS-BELIEF WHEN SHE READ ONE OF YOUR RATED X STATEMENTS BRUCE-------------------------------------------------
OR THIS.......................... Nart, go eat a big, floppy donkey d_ck; and after it passes through your system, petrify those feces and then use them to anally rape your mother as revenge for actually delivering you into this cruel world... After that, disembowel her and rip out her ova and wear them as you parade around the house, singing 3 Days Grace's newest song to your mother's corpse... THANKS FOR THE ENGLISH QUOTES, ILL BE SURE TO TEACH MY 3 KIDS TO USE THIS VOCABULARY..............
Carbon, one more thing (Sorry, I can't resist. The old college professor in me keeps coming out.) If you are going to put yourself out in the public eye, you better get used to taking some heat. In my "real life," I do a lot of public speaking and writing on tax law. Everytime I put something out there in the public domain, I do so knowing that there will be people who would love nothing better than to humiliate me by tearing apart what I said or wrote so that they could prove how much smarter they are, which is not hard to do, but I digress. It's the nature of the bidness, my friend. Don't take this to mean that that you should hold your punches or go hide in a closet. Nope, what you have to do instead is to make sure that everything you write and everything you say in a public forum is the very best you can do. All day and every day. You should go back and read some of the flame wars between Art and Maranelloman. (Art, where are you? Our nation turns its lonely eyes to you.) Pay careful attention to how Art did his thing. I don't recall him using any a$$holes or buttwipes or #$@!%. What Art did instead was to carefully pick at his opponent's arguments in order to divert attention away from holes that you could drive a truck through on his positions. In the end, Maranelloman would win because Liberials are one mass of contradictions that don't add up. Nonetheless, Art is a master at spinning his side of the story. Art, of course, is a smart well-trained trial attorney. He didn't get that way overnight, and this should be the lesson for you. You need to pay attention to the masters out there and learn from them. I'll give you another example. You'll hear people go on and on about how good Sen. Edwards is as a speaker. Well, duh, he is a trial attorney. Learning how to persuade people is how he made his money. But he didn't figure this out overnight. What's my specific advice to you and your fellow travelers? Well, the main thing that you should do is to reread what you have written before hitting that submit button. Maybe I'm a dinosaur, but does anybody think before they spew anymore? Writing is a craft, my friend. It takes time and work to learn how to do it well. Just remember to pick your battles wisely. Also remember that words are your bullets, so make them count. Nightly nite...
Being a journalist or writing in any sort of publication whether it be a paid subscription or public domain is the biggest f$%*ing pain in the ass.... I did a short stink for an online internet company servicing investment banks that wrote daily newsletters for the U.S. Domestic equity capital markets, and EVERY word, fact, number or data was scrutinized... I would get at least 3 calls a day from disgruntled bankers about some minor fact, or why so and so investment bank was not mentioned as a secondary underwriter, whatever BS that didn't make them look good... I quit after 3-months...
Hmmm, didn't know that Cuba was considered to be a Central American country... Dr "The only good red is one that's dead" Tax
ROFL, NNNNNNNNNNO said that?? Oh man that is total comedy. How on EARTH did I miss that spectacular thread? The guy has a live nervous breakdown after figuring out that his total life worth = about 10k posts on an internet message board and I miss it. Damn!
That right there is some great advice. Actually I was very embarrassed for you when you used that language. I understand why you did but what I can't figure out is where did all that anger come from? I was a little disappointed. But I'm glad that you apologized publicly like this. Accepted. Now let's get back to normal.
My proposition is that when the membership system is initiated, members see every other poster's real name - the one they bought the account with on their credit card. Non-member surfers would only see our handles/avatars and not our member information. Members can see who's who. It might be a pain, but I feel that the ultimate prevention of trolling is not having a secret identity to hide behind. It's frustrating when mouthy people hide behind it w/o anything filled in their profile, including their name. Heck, I even get suspicious of posters I would otherwise see are owners who don't have their profile filled in...
Dr.Tax, please stop with these recollections. Your making me all misty eyed for those glorious days of yesteryear when the air was thick with the dust from the battle of good versus liberal!
Carbon... I was totally shocked by your comments today too. Whether Bruce was joking or not, he raises a valid point. You never know whose eyes fall on this forum. As a young Dad myself, I suppose I may be a little more sensitive to this than others here. Ultimately Rob is right... its just a forum and any comments here shld be taken lightly That said.... keep up the Cavallino passion - I look forward to seeing you at one of the meets one day soon! regards, Greg Giacchi
For those that keep saying Des (Or the idiot formerly known as Des) is a kid, he is not. he is a grown man who is 25 years old. Now youve gone and pissed off poor Bruce. Say good-bye to the Sebring!
I loved those too firmly behind Art (not in the biblical sense mind) who always expressed himself ARTiculately and drove a hard argument with fairness and a worldliness rarely seen. Also JRV was attacked pretty heavily after he did a hit on some "mechanics" a while back which I thought was unwarranted and avoided Fchat for a while hoping sense would return. JRV sent me some very helpful information and is still dishing it out in the "other" Ferrari forum for the betterment of the Ferrari community unlike AllanLambo whose mum must have neglected him as a child and is trying to catch up now by baiting the Fchat community and getting all the attention he needs. It's really easy to get rid of the clowns - stop responding to their posts if they are stupid or obviously inflammatory. I look to this site for technical help (found plenty - thanks) and latest information on Ferrari news (lots of informed people here) Got pointed to OT today by other fellow Fcar Fchat readers in Oz, needless to say the gutter language was well out of order and only displays a persons low level of intelligence by reverting to it no matter what the provocation. PS my ignore list is getting bigger
That's alright, I've already gone ahead and ordered Carbonfiber a brand new 1:18 scale diecast Sebring. He can put it in his 1:18 scale garage, alond with his 1:18 scale girlfriend and his 1:18 scale bank account.
Hey Maaco - Does it make you feel good when you post something like this? Putting someone down - fun for you huh.. BTW, its not that funny.
Well I missed the entire thread, and I am glad I did. 3 or 4 guys succeded in pissing DES of, and that was the intention. That's pretty clear. We all make mistakes, and DES, I know you don't think it was, but it was - I made a big one when I started here a year and a half ago, and I have found this board forgiving and very usefull to fulfill my needs in my hobby. Talking with owners of machines I love, exactly like DES have. DES, I'm a 100% behind you, you know that. I don't own a Ferrari, but I love it as much as the one who do. Bruce, I hope you will find the time to forgive DES for his obscure language, as you 2 seemed to get along fine and you are a pretty cool dude. Sorry that your kids and you recovering wife should see it. To those idiots who provoked DES to write the way he did, SHUT THE **** UP. You don't have anything against him, besides enveing him. ()Maybe not allan, but the rest of you imbicils)
i've gotten more PMs about yesterday's "outburst" than any other thread i've started or been in... Nice. For those who missed it, i'll say it again; yesterday's "outburst" was intentional; as Spasso said, what do you expect from someone who constantly throws out a witty remark and always turns the other cheek...? Yesterday was not a turn-the-other-cheek day and look what happened... i got exactly the reaction i wanted; that thread was 6 pages long before Mark locked it... Again, i apologize to all of those folks who i've inadvertently offended; i didn't want to piss EVERYONE off, just touch a few nerves of the people who always get on mine... Like a majority of other people, i'm here for the Ferraris; O/T is just a cool place to hang out in between GD threads... i still look forward to meeting a lot of you at different events... To those of you who stuck up for me, i'd like to say thank you... To those of you who feel the need to belittle my 1:18 die cast collection or my 1:18 bank account (1:43 is more like it), please note that your health plan most likely has in-patient and out-patient mental health benefits; please utilize them; if need be, i'll splurge and send you the $10-$30 for the specialist co-pay... (Please note that your health plan might require you to obtain a referral before consulting a mental health physician...) As others have mentioned, writing is a talent and words are weapons and so on; no kidding. It's obvious i threw sharp verbs with great intensity yesterday, but accidentally cut a few people on the sidelines in the process... That's what this thread is for... Now if you'll excuse me, i need to go apologize to Dave.
