    Hi Janet,

    Welcome! I'm also in the Pacific NW and a non-Ferrari owner yet.

    What kind of car is that in your profile? Looks like an Alfa from the clover badge but the top boot looks a little different for some reason. (Forgive me... I'm a CNFC -- Convertible Nut First Class. Had to ask....)

    Also, to keep it back on the Ferrari-topic..... What type(s) of F-cars are you interested in? Current models, vintage, V8s, V12s?

    yeah, i considered going for a dallara/prototipo 'scorpion tail' induction scoop, but decided this car's just gonna be a nice street car, so no need for the ram-air... plus the car still looks stock (IDF's behind yer noggin don't SOUND quite as tame though :) ) in it's current guise. maybe a clip-on arrangement might be in order...

    It appears from phots that you and kim did a nice job on the lambo. Another one of those not exotic enough exorics for the snobs. Enjoy the ride. Looks great in the blue.

    Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome!

    The car is my 1990 Alfa Romeo Quadrifoglio Spider - beautiful in black. (Thank goodness I learned about black car wax!!) The photo was taken at the Italian Concours on the pier in Seattle. :)

    To answer the Ferrari question, I am interested in all types. I attend car events on both coasts and most places in between and just spent the weekend in Southern California helping a friend search for a 308 QV.

    I noticed your exact car model for sale in Autoweek, this weekend!

    A red/grey with hardtop roof. They were asking $15K, sound about right?

    I have two teenagers I'm going to have to let drive, don't want to give 'em a 308 yet, but they are good in karts.

    What do you think???

    Is very moody ( remember 1st to 3rd when cold)

    I have been around F Chat almost forever ... just didn't post before. In regard to the Alfa to Ferrari move up ... looks like I should have a 308QV in my garage in the next few weeks. "Bambino Day Care" if you will. Can't complain about that. Just exercise him on sunny days and tuck him in at night.

    Ladies all, welcome aboard. Pls don't be too put off by all the horny guys here on F-Chat. As the father of a 20-year old daughter, I can truly say that I have looked at life from both sides. (Ahh, if I had only known then what I know now about male/female relationships, well... I might not have been a father!)

    Truth is, I have always thought that women have the raw material to make great drivers. On margin the soft touch is always better than the, "I'm only 22 and I don't mind dying." Yep folks, I'm convinced. Most women are smarter than us guys. Hey, even that dancer ended up with, what, $50 million? She might just be as dumb as a fox, eh?

    I too am a father of a stunning 11 years old tomboy girl....I must say she has heightened my gender perspective more than than ever before. In addition, most women I know ARE smarter....much smarter than I am.

    we would! after a show last summer a local guy told us his 308 failed emissions and we went to his house and messed with it about a half hour before we found a missing vacumn line.. I pulled some off the engine of one of the replica GTO's and then the car was able to idle again without making our eyes water : ) If anyone comes on a drive I'm on I always have tools, backup extinguisher and extra everything.. oil, coolant, you name it.. and Kim keeps all kinds of electrical diagnostic tools in her car (she's got a degree in electrical engineering, I do mechanical stuff to the cars.)
