Just got back from picking my car up. Suspension fixed, front and rear aero on, new rotors replaced after cracking one at Calder last weekend. Off to Sandown tomorrow, previous best a 1:22 flat, hoping to go sub 1:20. Pics to follow.

No pressure or anything.. but a Datto 240Z could do a 1.22,..... 5 years ago....

    http://www.natsoft.com.au/cgi-bin/results.cgi?22/10/2000.SAND.R9

and a non aero enhanced 360C can do a 1.16.6

    http://www.natsoft.com.au/cgi-bin/results.cgi?16/09/2001.SAND.Q3

and even dear old sam newman can do a 1.18

    http://www.natsoft.com.au/cgi-bin/results.cgi?08/09/2002.SAND.Q9

    and a 360 GT can do 13's

    http://www.natsoft.com.au/cgi-bin/results.cgi?08/09/2002.SAND.P13

and when we last raced comparable cars there... 11's are the go if you're good!!

    Yeah, but a 240Z doesn't weigh 1690kg with (fat)driver and 50litres of fuel.
BTW checked with Allan, Nations Cup was 1:14's race pace, 1:13's qualifying with sequential gearbox, 1380kg dry weight. Allan reckons on 1:16-1:17 as the performance limit once I pull a further 100-150kg weight out, unless I go with a sequential gearbox conversion.

I have been at the workshop since 8:00AM helping. I use a guy Reg, who was Alan Hamiltons old race mechanic, for the conversion of the road car to a race car. Phil is great with the service a race prep/tuning side of things, but is too busy to dedicate the time I need to get the car done in the time frames I am expecting.

when we raced the 550 GTS there, it was a complete dunger. The Moton's were a joke at that stage... but mid 12's was 550 GTS Q. Would have done Low 11's if the shocks worked.

Going fast at Sandown with bad shocks WILL break something....

When this car is all done, is the plan for it to be a track car only or will it still see the street?

Just came back from Sydney after being redone properly this time by the guys that did JB's car. Difference just on the road is startling!
That reminds me of a post to put in the tech section on wheel alignments.
Up until now, I took Carls skills for granted, never again!!

Still street regoed, driven too and from the track and the frequent workshop visits. Actually it spends most of its life in a workshop these days.

    good luck anyway, seriously.

    Hat's off to you... you're not just a talker, you're a doer.

Although there is still one thing we need to fix up between us... but not here!

I'll do it tomorrow if I get time.

It has only had one mechanical failure ever. Clutch exploded after 20K's of mostly track use, on the track.
It also gets driven a couple of hundred K's every week, to from and around a track.
Amazing how reliable Ferrari's are when they are actually driven!

Love the modern spin on the old 'Rumpole of the Bailey' line :D

Good luck with your endeavours; it sounds like it's going to be quite the road/racer!

Only got a low 1:21, didn't get a clear lap all day as I was around 10 secs a lap faster than other cars in my group, 5 secs quicker than next fastest car.
Maserati day next weekend should prove more fruitfull I think.
