Boiler Room
Casablanca... a distant third for me. LOL - I just remembered - there's a "Senor Ferrari" in that!!! Rick: Remember this gun is pointed at your heart... Louis: That is my least vulnerable spot!
OK guys, I see you cant limit it to one movie. Thats OK. So heres the REAL list: 1. True Romance: Simply the best movie ever made, hands down. Period. End of story. If you dont believe me, its because you havent seen it. Go rent it. 2. Reservoir Dogs. Tony before he was Tony. 3. Kalifornia: Im not a Brad Pitt fan but this is his best. Nice and gory. 4. Pulp Fiction: Obvious. 5. Heat : Best shoot out scene ever filmed. 6. Body Heat: Really steamy. Honorable mention: Natural Born Killers. Extra points for gratuitous violence. Best movie my kids should like but dont: Hudsucker Proxy. Charming. Best movie my kids should like and do: Ice Age (This is because the little rodent character not only looks like Colin Edwards of World Superbike and MotoGP fame, but also acts like him.) Best western (I can think of) Tombstone. Val Kilmers best. So there you go. You're welcome.
Sci-fi Alien Western Unforgiven Car tie: Grand Prix, Lemans Action Terminator 2 Drama Casablanca Horror Exorcist Comedy The spy that shagged me Am I the only person that believes the world needs another classic movie about auto racing? Not that crap Stallone inflicted on an unsuspecting public, but a movie that resembles reality.
"He's up there, flying the mission with his men." The doctor, in reference to Gregory Peck's comatose state as he sits grounded due to exhaustion while his men are flying a B-17 mission over Germany. The B-17's name WAS?..............The Leper Colony. So named because the pilot's crew was deliberately composed of misfits from other squadrons assigned to him as punishment for being easy on his crew. Lord Haw Haw is always listening. Turn the mug around. Time for a mission. MAXIMUM effort. Pinetree out.

Perhaps you had to have been there to understand the impact of the Graduate. For many of us the 60s was a time of a great awakening. The scenes of Ben coming home after graduation, floating in the pool, the tip about plastics (should have been computers), getting hustled by an older woman were all reflective of the indecisiveness that many of us were feeling at the time. At least for white America, the middle 60s was a time of opulence and, surprisingly, a hunger for something different. Little did we know what lay waiting around the corner. Throwing a wrench in the mix. Any of you guys ever see any Marx Bros. movies or Hitchcock thrillers? Yeah, yeah I'm an old fart, but some of the classics are great. Turner Classic Movie channel is about the only place you ever get a chance to see them anymore . . . shameful. With all that said, Patton is one of my all time favs.
Back when I used to give a lot of seminars (boring stuff to CPAs on tax law), I used to play the opening clip of Patton to start the day. The "Kill the other dumb poor bastard" lick is a great way to start the day. I'd also used to show the clip of John Belushi in the cafeteria line and imitating a zit before lunch. Then in the afternoon, I'd sneak a clip from Top Gun. Only problem was that everybody liked the movie clips a lot better than my presentation <sigh>. DrTax
