Haha, here come the excuses! Pathetic if you asked me.
So in your sense of the word, how does it feel to have your Glorified Tractor inspired pure fat supercar get blown away by an underweight, racecar built by Ferrari? Nice slap in the face. So much for that Tractor engineering.

ps: Hahahaha, just paraphrasing Allan from the 'Sport Auto 360Cs test' thread ... with a few words changed :D

Just a tidbit for you guys, have you ever checked the racing circuit in Australia? The Lamborghini importer there runs a Diablo race car in the series, the only race car out there right now that I know of, and it has won the national racing circuit 2 or 3 years running! There are plenty of Ferraris running out there and seem to be getting the doors sucked off of them. Not trying to rain on the parade, but make sure that you are comparing apples and apples. I have spoken to the driver, when in Italy for the Gallardo launch, and he said the Diablo is really an excellent match for just about anything. Also, you cannot compare and F-50 to any Lamborghini. That car is just short of race trim when it rolls out the factory door! A Murci or a Diablo is a street car. Now why don't we compare the F-50 or even the Enzo, to the new R-GT Murci that will be launched shortly. That should be interesting to see a 650 hp Murci that weighs only 2500 lbs.
P.S. I really like Ferraris, don't get me wrong. The 575m is one of my all time favorite cars.

The winning part of that comment above, ie. the 2 or 3 years running is not true. I will try and confirm ...

    Pete

    EDIT:

Okay I know that yes Paul Stokell did win the drivers championship in 2003 driving a Lamborgini Diablo, but he finished 4th the year before!, so the 2 or 3 years running is not accurate. I believe in fact that last year was the first championship success for Paul driving the Lamborgini, which is great for Lamborgini.

BTW: Lamborgini did not win the manufacturers champ, that honour going to Porsche as always ...

Not to rain in your parade but we've already compared the Murci R-GT to it's natural competitor, the 575 GTC and 550 GT. The R-GT qualified 18th at Monza nearly 6 seconds off the pace. In fact it was almost as slow as the lower class 360 GT which are 250 hp down on the car.

The Enzo or F50 may look like a race car but they aren't.

And at Bathurst this year the 360 GT's running in B class matched the Lambo running in A class in lap times despite being 175 - 200 hp down.

Lambo may be the ultimate street car but it's not the ultiamte race car.

    Jon,

Not wanting to defend Lambo (enough people doing that already) but the Lamborgini racing is Australia is under some sort of engine hp limiting restriction, so it probably is not producing its full potential. I know that in previous years they had to run with a rev restriction ... which is why they are so pissed when the Holdens were able to cheat so blatently with the Monaro.

    Yada, yada, yada, yada.......Allan!!!!!

Now you're making excuses. If the Murci wasn't broken in then keep the damn car at home and have grandma break it in for you. And if the owner wanted the car babied what a dumbass to let some young hot shot Japanese F3/JTCC racer get his hands on it.

And please verify your claim about the driver of the F50. I think you're full of sh*t. That driver is a JTCC N300 racer. Show me some evidence that he owns that car and has done a 1000 laps in it. The driver of the Murci is also a JTCC racer for Toyota.

If you can't stand the heat get the hell out of the kitchen. If you show up with your car at the track and it's not broken in and you want it babied stay the heck home. Make a few more trips to the grocery store before you let some F3 racer get his hand on it.

It's like asking Chuck Yeager to please take it easy on this new F18 Superhornet, the taxpayers and the Pentagon want it BABIED!!!!!!!!!

I respect your opinions and your basing many of them on fact such as the Hockenheim and Nurburgring lap times but now your starting to fall vicitm of the same crap you blast people on this site of doing.......

The Lambo lost to the F50 admit it!!! and stop making excuses.

    Regards,

    Jon

There is a reason why Allan has nitrous in his lambo. It's because he needs it to keep up with the Ferraris. Period!

Pete the ? is how much are they being restricted. If they are making 650 hp and are down to say 550 then they should still whip a 360 GT car.

Let's fact it the day the rules are written to allow anyone but a Holden to win it will be the day Lamborghini starts winning F1 races. And with Brock comming back for another try this year you knew it was a bagged trophy.

I mean look at the darn car. It looks like a flying brick......a four door Buick or mass produced rental car and yet the rear race cars can't touch it like the Lambo, the 360, and any of the Porsche's.

    Go figure!

The video is a Best Motoring series vid, and the same driver of the f50 has raced it on several such occasions, including in several other videos. The video was translated on another board. If you can honestly watch the video and not be able to see that the murci was being babied than thats ok. Next fact, is take your eyes out of your a$$ and look at the F50. Not stock. If i remember correctly mods, included lightweight wheels, bigger brakes, suspension, Tubi exhaust and headers.

Atleast when i show some sort of data, cars are on equal grounds. If youd like, ill post the best Motoring vid when the 360 gets smoked by Rx7's,Nsx's,and Skylines. The Best Motoring vids are purely for entertainment.

I can admit the reason i have Nitrous is to beat an Enzo. Im secure with that. For all other fcars, i disconnect the nitrous and pull 6 plug wires.

Regardless of the condition of the lambo or how it was driven, the NSX-R was very impressive IMO. If it had another 100HP I think it could have places 2nd. I don't think it would touch the F50.

You're quite right about the NSX. I was stunned to see it do that well. After all it is about 15 years older than the Murcie and has a bunch of HP less and yet the Murcie had a hard time passing it.

After I was wondering, whether this wasn't some clever marketing ploy from Honda (after all it is a Japanese track and drivers and show) to get some glory. Just couldn't believe that the mighty Murcie nearly can't beat a 15 year old Honda.

PS: Yeah, the Murcie was clearly babied in driving. "Babied" so much, that the car goes off the track.

I enjoy reading all these Lambo vs. Ferrari posts, because its just plain fun. BUT, after all this smack talking between everyone, when do I get to see a real challenge between you? I want to see some people put their money where their mouth is when it comes to speed and acceleration.

Get your cars to the dyno and drag strip and lets see the numbers!!! Even if the conditions are different, choose your best times/runs and lets see the official printouts, no excuses!

I don't pretend to have the fastest cars, bc they are both plane jane stock, but I wouldn't mind seeing smack talking backed up.

    Anyone with me on this???

P.S. Not siding with anyone, but Allan's SV looks pretty sweet.

You guys can say whatever you want, facts are facts.

As for the Nsx-r, it was driven the HARDEST of all the cars. Watch the video, the driver hits the berms head-on, and anyone has more seat time behind the wheel of any car, its this one.
