Look at this jack being sold on Ebay in auction #300030519120 : http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300030519120 It almost looks like one of those blue "Riganti" jacks for earlier cars (250, I think) that has been repainted to appear the color as a Dino jack. It looks thinner than other jacks I've seen including the one with my car. Doing a completed auctions search on Ebay, I see auction #30022121332 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230022121332 which looks like the jack with my car.
You are correct. My jack looks like yours. The E-Bay jack is close, but has a curved turning handle and a refined (curved) pivot frame for the horizontal insertion member (don't read anything else into this description!!). Jim S.
When you say slim, I do know that the articulating portion that slides into the jacking hole (behave yourselves) is a different diameter on older cars vs. newer ones. Are you talking about the whole jack or just the bit I mentioned?
Memory is a funny thing, I've owned 4 alfa's with earlier style jacks and I seem to remember the shafts being narrower. saw this on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ALFA-ROMEO-Giulietta-very-early-car-Jack-SS-Spider_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ10076QQihZ019QQitemZ290034361563QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW
i asked the seller about the jack and pouch. shortly there after, he canceled the auction. based on my questions and his response, i think he is an honerable guy trying to do the right thing. he now knows the pouch is a repro, and he suspects the jack isn't correct. i suspect he will relist the item accordingly.
