    Hello, does anybody have an Allen 1415 HD distributor machine that might be willing to help me out with mine...the tachometer isn't working and could use some help diagnosing the problem...thank you very much..

    Check out Paramount Distributor Machine Co. They handle mostly Sun machines but I would bet thet can help you out. www.paramountd.com

    I have an Allen 1415, which I completely rebuilt. Even after replacing all the capacitors and resistors in the power supply it still couldn't hold a calibration. After 50-odd years I think that old tube power supply has seen its day.

    Get yourself something like this Actron 7676 (http://www.amazon.com/Actron-CP7676-Digital-Multimeter/dp/B0001EK3LG). It's an accurate digital Tach and Dwell meter, and will run off the 6V in the Allen. For $20 you'll save yourself a lot of headaches trying to fix that old tube power supply.

    I've got the schematics and manual (some guy charged me $40 for them, but I was desperate). PM me if you need any more info.

    I will bet Paramount can get it fixed. I bought their kit to remove all the tubes in my Sun and I did it myself with their excellent instructions, no more tubes and it works great.
