Got an allocation for an F8 spider in Sept 2021 but have not gotten a production date as of yet. Are there ant others that are in the same situation and/or have not recieved their car yet ?

TL;DR: you’re not alone in the wait.

As Rob suggested there is a long thread regarding order status and shipments. There have also been other threads popping up along the same lines. Short version is that you will want to check with your dealer on the status of receiving any allocation. Generally, folks first make a deposit for a place in line (waitlist) pending an allocation that the dealer believes they could secure you in the future.

There’s debate on whether or not there will even be any more allocations for F8S. Some say the factory won’t release more; that what’s done is done. The latest competing rumor I’ve heard is that a final allocation block is coming soon(tm). The belief with this rumor is that such a block of allocations would progress most, if not all, wait list deposit holders, similarly to the big push of F8T allocations in late 2021.

The best place to seek clarity is from your dealer, as they can confirm exactly what your current status is. Perhaps they can also give you some hints as to what they think may be coming. If they do, feel free to report back, as there are plenty here eager for any clues I suspect.

It is reassuring that there are others still waiting for their cars as well. My dealer feels my car should go into production in Jan 2023 and be completed around June. That being said i was surprised they would still be making the F8 at all by then.Fingers crossed !

Deposit for spider Sept 3 2021 here.
The GM at my dealer just said on Thursday he is expecting a lot of allocations being filled this month including mine. Great news as several months ago he thought Jan would be my allocation. So yes seems to be a big bock coming after a few months of no activity.

How many do they say are in front of you at your dealership for the allocation? I'm a May 2021 at mine and I still have 8 in front of me.

I was at the production line in Maranello last week. Did not see a burst of F8 production. F8’s, 296, Porto and Roma almost equally sequenced on the V8/V6 Line pushing out approx 40 total cars daily.

Ask your dealer what your modis code is at. If you are at 10g you’ll get a car if not you may or may not get the car depending on how many deposits your dealer took. Last October I placed an order for a tributo. The gm who I know said “I’m pretty sure we will be able to get you a car” as most folks were ordering spiders. Then in February I got a 3 day rush to do the spec. He said “we need to do this by Friday to ensure we don’t loose it”. I have no idea what that means as I’ve ordered cars before and it’s never been an issue. Then there were posts this spring of folks loosing allocations from the Factory. I assume dealers take more deposits and hope they get allocations for them but who knows.
I’ll stick to my original statement. Ask the dealer about your status and get the app on your phone. You’ll know you are getting a car at 10g and when you get s VIN on the app. Otherwise I think it is questionable

Read the order status thread referenced above and you will learn everything you need to know, from the modus codes, to the probable vessels at sea for delivery, to the process once it gets to customs, plus the experiences of all of us who have been through the journey from allocation to delivery. A year ago the dealers announced there would be no more new orders taken for any F8's. There were auto news stories to that effect. I discussed it with my dealer and he told me he was glad I had ordered my F8 in January 2021, because no more orders were going ahead so they could ramp up for the 296. I am not sure if that was in fact the case, but it seems since then there has been a lot of uncertainty with many regarding whether they will really get a car in the build process or not.

As noted above, when you are status 10R, the factory in Italy has accepted your order. From there it may take a long time, but it will happen. If you are not 10R, you may be out of luck at this point.

    For me:

    1. placed order January 19, 2021, put down $10K deposit
    2. spec'd car out January 23rd
    3. finalized spec and reviewed cost estimate of the options January 27th
    4. order sent to Italy January 28th
    5. dealer confirmed status 10R April 10th
    6. status 20 May 12th
    7. status 40 May 19th, VIN showed up in the App
    8. status 60 May 29th and first production picture showed up the App
    9. second picture showed up in the App June 2nd.
    10. status 70 June 7th
    11. status 90, last picture showed up in the App June 11th
    12. shipped from Italy June 9th on the Vienna Express
    13. arrived Port of New Jersey June 24th
    14. status 91 July 12th, "out of the container"
    15. status 92/93 July 21st, waiting on truck
    16. Arrived Ferrari of New England July 26th
    17. Picked car up July 29th.

Just spent 2 hours with my SA today, finalized my spec.

#11 in queue out of 13 at the dealer.

Heard a horror story about a car that went into production without customer final changes entered. (Went status 20 in one week)

Seems about right. Last year in the spring/summer dealers were quoting six months for a Tributo and a year for a spider. Fifteen months is not bad and you can now enjoy your wonderful car.

15 months to California is one of the shortest deliveries I have heard of recently.
