It is indeed true I was quoted about a year wait, bot sure why this was shorter than some other locations. I took delivery yesterday morning.

    Congrats!
Yes you are very lucky. I put deposit down one month after you and I don’t even have an allocation yet. I’ve got prior history and also in CA.

Shipped 7/7/22 and was told it would arrive the end of August. Was cleared at the port 10/28/22 but it hasn’t made the 60 miles trip to the dealership yet! Probably get here around the time they treat the roads with salt and calcium. 19 months and counting.

Since it hasn't been mentioned here, for those who are awaiting production you may want to consider asking for an air freight quote. Air freight gets quoted at status 70, but it's good to let your SA know that you want to consider it so the factory is aware. Shipping times have been multiple months via boat, and if you're on the west coast it can get even more ridiculous. My F8 spider finished production ~June 15th and I took delivery the last week of June because I flew the car over. I enjoyed a full summer and extended exceptional weather period in the spider before the weather finally turned rainy here in Seattle. Sure the price was another $30k, but I'll take the extra summer of time with the car. If my car had finished production in February of 2022 I would have just boated it, but I didn't want to miss out on a summer.

I had done the same thing with my 812 back in 2020, but I got in while air freight was about as cheap as it ever was. It was ~$13k to fly it from Milan to Seattle in June of 2020..

Agree with @SeattleStew. My f8 was spring early summer production and “shipped” August 2 (status 90) Car went 91 today so I could have swam faster!

Granted based on actual shipping times the car actually has been locked up in the port for close to 5 weeks before they scanned it and updated it to 91. The trucking is the next hurdle. Usually this is a 10 day turnaround so Im guessing in todays world I get the car for Christmas if I’m lucky! Of course it doesn’t really matter as last time I took a winter the car sat in my garage on a battery tender for 3 months.

Just as an update. Got a call from dealer that my car will be built in first quarter of 2023 fyi for those waiting to hear. I’m assuming won’t go 10R until factory reopens after December break but who knows….

FYI. This is with them telling me 2 months ago that there were still 7 in front of me despite order being in since May 2021 so who knows how these things are happening unless a bolus of allocations were released.

Hopefully your dealer is accurate. I was told late Q4'21 or early Q1'22 in September of last year and my car went 10G in Q1'22, and 10R in Q2'22.

Another forum member said that in 2021 Ferrari changed how allocations were assigned. They said Ferrari has taken greater control over who from the dealer's list is being assigned allocations as they come up. I can't confirm that, just something I've heard. It would make sense why the dealer informed me that my car would go into production much earlier than it did though. Before my F8 spider my only history with Ferrari was that I ordered a new 812 in 2020, so I'd be fairly low on Ferrari's client list, especially at my dealer. I'm sure the F8 has bumped me a few more spots, but I don't expect any special treatment any time soon.

Similar situation here.... I placed my F8S deposit in Aug 21 and 6 weeks ago my SA said he had no idea when I would receive my build slot. I was #8 on the list. My SA contacted me last week and said my build slot had arrived..... they received 8 slots so I slid in the last slot. He thinks the car will go into production sometime early next year with a summer delivery at the dealership.

My wife's Portofino M was about 54 days from VIN to boat:

    VIN 4/16/22
    first picture 6/1/22
    second picture 6/8/22
    loaded on a boat 6/9/22
    third picture 6/11/22
confirmed at Port of New Jersey, waiting for customs 8/20/22

Shipping and port delays are the real problem.
