    nice swim this morning unfortunately ended with me being carted off to SCUH on a spinal board... small wave caught out the back which I thought would peter out way before I got near the bathers didn’t, and just as I was about to raise my head to check all clear, I went head first into the hip of a guy standing in the shallow water. Bottom line- compression fracture to T5 and 6; no danger or long term effects but bloody sore! Never know what the day will bring.

    If you haven’t had one recently, get a Bone Mineral Density study which will assess whether you have any underlying significant osteopaenia. If you have any numbness or funny sensations around your abdomen or legs, get an MRI

    Been at the hospital all afternoon and MRI showed the fractures - good news is that bone is all nice and solid!
