What! Batteries for free? or almost free? How? Where? BRUCE YOU'RE HOLDING OUT ON MOST OF US...ts tsk tsk.

Anyway, IMVHO I believe that everyone is entitled to an opinion. In the past I've never seen anyone of the likes of that Lambo moron Allen, or Mako or several other charlatans ever get hammered like Bruce did. I guess we only hurt the ones we love.......

 

just caught up on this thread, Alex and wayne hit the nail on the head, hopefully cooler heads will prevail. I have read this thread a few times and it appears to have taken off from a very small comment, I have met and know both Rob and Bruce. I know Rob takes this site very seriously and will defend it very strongly, I also know Rob probably gets grief from many members because it is percieved that he shows favortism towards some of the old timers. I know Bruce has been disappointed with the direction many members have been heading in and has made his feelings known. That said get on the phone and talk so you can work this out

yes, I do understand you very clearly!
But let me say: In Europe we have respect!
Bruce is NOT a 18 years young gun. He is 43 years, a business man with a stronge reputation.
A long time fchatter with (to me) highest reputation. In have never read any silly or stupid posts from Bruce! I have great respect for Bruce, Andrea and his family.

You, Rob & Bruce, why the hell haven`t you called/mailed Rob B4 posting???
That’s the only reproach……remember my last PM……YOU have sooo many oberservers from all around the world.

Chances are this argument has been resolved but for the record, I disagree completely with how Rob handled the situation initially- absolutely unacceptable on his part as both an administrator/owner and member...

 

Wow. You guys have certainly been having a party over here. (Putting on a flame suit) Rob, I have been following Brother Bruce's posts lately, and I think that maybe both of you might have misfired. Reading between the lines, I think that Bruce is still uncomfortable about the hip hop takeover of the Tri-State area, which used to be his stomping grounds. Without going down that road any further, I'm guessing that Bruce's comments about the legacy folks leaving had more to do with this rap jive than anything else.

In Bruce's defense, I don't care much for that stuff either. I get enough of this crap from my 17-year old son. However, unlike Bruce, I'm all over this board because I always use the "new posts" feature and only look at those posts that sound interesting. Thus, I avoid the New York hip-hop crew because, well, it ain't my bag, man.

I guessing though that Bruce is a bit of fish out of water because this was his home turf.

In your defense, I can already hear you saying that Bruce can go elsewhere on the board if he doesn't like the rap stuff. True, but what I hear Bruce saying is that he doesn't want to go anywhere else, so his only choice is to stop coming.

We both suggested that the hip-hop guys start their own version of Wolfgang's bonker's thread. But I'm guessing by Bruce's reaction that this is not working. I don't know cause I don't go to the Tri-State area much.

At the end of the day, nobody's right and everybody is wrong. The New York crew will have their sandbox and Bruce will probably fade away. It's really too bad, but I don't see any solutions either.

Very well put Dr. Tax. It all reminds me of the worn out saying " you can't please all of the people all the time".
Bruce is upset because some guy's had some fun and it wasn't his idea of fun. I personally thought it was funny and bringing some humor here is ok with me. I can take it, post about it, or leave it!
Bruce even got so upset he accidently jumped down a 12 year olds throat.
I guess things got out of hand.
I can relate though Bruce, if I have to see another innane thread about your freeking favorite liscence plate, or what music you listen to while driving your Ferrari I'm going to throw up!
This site is growing and the idea is that everyone is welcome here. Lets settle down Bevis, and participate in the areas that we are interested in. If you don't like the other stuff ignore it or post about it if you have the balls.

 

I know Bruce very well now and, like someone mentioned earlier, he is absolutely nothing like what 90% of the chatters here think. I know exactly what he is talking about with regards to the old site. When I came here it was the end of that era and I got to see both sides. I still love this site and I have no intention of leaving but I can't fault Bruce for feeling the way he does.

 

Why does this need to get personal? It looks bad on those involved. Negativity and conflicts should be handled professionally and off line. Period!

On a similar note, George Michael.....yes, the gay washed up pop star(not that there is anything wrong with that) decided to personally shut down his chat site because people would begin to bash his new recordings and it was a business or his decision, that that was bad for biz. I don't blame him. Obviously it's not necessary to go to that extreme here but you get the idea of how it can poison a site.

The Tri-state lingo seems to be contained in their region so I don't see that as any problem for the majority.

Tons of Ferrari stories & pics, short appointments for a quick drive out, Ferrari enigmas in the past, a place to ask for help, personal conversation…..just the daily live of the european fchatters.
We have no wars, fights or ofense in the european section. Its always all in good fun.
We know (most of us) each other from drive outs or meetings, we share our cell phone numbers and mail contacts………all @ the bonkers-thread!
We don`t care about how old or young the chatters are in the european section.
We don`t care about if he/she is a BIG or a poor guy.
We don`t care about if he owns a Ferrari or not.
And the result is: Nobody has a problem to fill out the profile, and we care about this – no reason to lie `cause we accept & respect each other. Its just & only the love & passion to Ferrari!

When I first came in touch with this site I was already a member to another Ferrari Forum and I thought that one was better because there weren't as many 'fights'. But I finally discovered the Europe section (my place right?) and the bonkers-thread. And I think it's the only thread that really makes you feel like part of a huge Ferrari-family. This is no sucking up or anything, it's really true.
I don't own a F-car. And probably never will but I do know Ferrari I have my own site(s) and a large collection miniatures, books, magazines and pictures. Together with several F-chatters (and Bonkerers) I visited this year 4 events!! Isn't that unique? Meeting with people from all over Europe, and it's like you already know these guys (and girls!!).
And indeed. Sometimes we talk bull**** in the Bonkerers section... but that's what happens in a community. We are all people right?
And in the other threads there are very very little high-jacks. 'Cause we respect the subject in those threads!
I don't know about the 'bling-bling' posts, but I somebody doesn't like them...don't read them IMHO
So I really hope that everything will be allright between all of you very very soon!! 'Cause F-chat has to stay! And stay as it is right now IMHO!!
I'm very glad to be a member of this site!!

I have to second Waldo and Wolfgang here!!! NO suck up or anything like that, just my personal thoughts!!!
I really don't think that anybody in the European section would like to live without our dear BONKERS thread, as it is indeed THE THREAD that makes all of us in the European section get up in the morning and just have to log in at Fchat to say good morning to your friends, and later makes us all go to bed each and every day with a big smile and a good feeling, and knowing that you have several brothers and sisters "out there" who shares the same daily problems and joys as you do yourself!!! It's also THE THREAD that makes everybody feel equal and welcome when new to this forum, nomatter if you are yellow or white or muslim or protestant etc. just and only because of the passion we all share!!! Why try to lie about and hide the things that everybody knows or will be able to find out in a short period of time....we all respect one another, for sure, and many or most of us have met personally and/or shares great friendships even when offline!!!
Bull**** and jokes, events/meetings, and private problems with the girlfriend/wife/boyfriend/husband, problems with your car, or difficulty in finding just the right polish for the Ferrari or the Hyundai....nomatter what, you will always get a helping hand in this thread!!! Because we're all in the same boat, we are all real persons living on the same little Planet, and doomed to be here and get the best out of it until the end....so why not be friendly and try to help each other....it's totally free and it will help yourself when you're in the need!!!

Why not just let this die now, Rob and Bruce sorted out their differences a while back.

 

Wolfgang and all the other Bonkers, I think that you may have misintrepreted Rob's comment. It was actually meant as a compliment. Everybody knows that if you go to the Bonkers thread, you're gonna see a whole lotta bonking going on. Everybody also knows that if you prefer not to see this stuff, then don't go there.

Rob's point (and mine also) is that the Hip Hop guys could create their version of a Bonker's thread, aka the Bling-Bling thread, and do whatever they wanted to do and Bruce could just avoid going there. This way everybody is happy.

But this doesn't appear to be working, and Bruce has got one foot on the banana peel because he doesn't like what he sees. Personally, I'd hate to see Bruce leave F-Chat, but I'd don't see where Rob can do much about his compliants. Rob cannot ban Hip Hop from the board. This would be like trying to ban conservative posts. Because you can't even define Bling Bling, each ban would be a judgment call and this would please no one.

If the Hip Hop guys don't want to play within the lines and stay in one thread, Bruce will have to make a decision as to whether he wants to stay or go. I hope he stays, but this is one problem that the F-Chat community must deal with on its own. Rob can't really do anything about this. Indeed, I'm guessing that some of Rob's comments reflected his own frustration in getting hammered from both sides on this one.

Long story short, Rob wasn't flaming your Bonker's thread. In fact, it is the exact opposite.
