I'll be making the trek down from Boise to catch the race this weekend. Anyone else going?

Well if you happen to have any full (or nearly full) bottles of Patron, hook a brother up!

That's pretty awesome that Fisichella is racing with Risi. I look forward to see how he does in a GT car!!

So stoked for this weekend!! :) :)

I'll be there Saturday, but missing the race on Sunday. Stackhouse is really easy to find. There's always a crowd of females following him, with his fiance batting them away.

Going by the picture above I actually saw Stackhouse but I wasn't positively sure so I didn't introduce myself. I need to see a picture without sunglasses.

    Anyway, the Stackhouse I saw

    1. Had a good looking brunette with him.
    2. Was driving a black Bentley Gt with black wheels.
    3. Is 6'2 or a little above.

    Does this describe Stackhouse?

    Side Note-

I have to say I was a little disappointed in the attendance. I am sure it doesn't help that the economy is in the ****ter. The last time I went to a race (America LeMans) was the first one back in 2006. There was triple (so it seemed) the amount of people at that race.

The parking lot at that time also looked like an exotic car collection in and of itself. This time I only saw a yellow F430 in the parking lot which was definitely a beauty. However, it was fun once you were inside to see the collection of ferrari's.

So, Overall I definitely enjoyed myself but I was disappointed in the attendance. I read in LHM's book "Driven" that the track loses $2 million per year. I am glad someone owns it that can take a financial hit like that. I just hope that once things get going again the people of Utah come out and support this awesome event.

Hm, the Stackhouse I saw was driving a golf cart and had three dudes with him. I was looking for a trail of Patron bottles but no luck. (Seriously!) I only saw him once and he looked like a man on a mission, plus I didn't want to get ran over by a golf cart, so I kept on going.

I too agree about the attendance. My last ALMS race there was also the first one and just like you said the parking lot had nicer machinery and it just felt like there were more people around. I hope things start ramping up for track. I've been there several times now and I hope to continue going!

My problem was that for the past couple years the main race has been held on Sunday. If you remember that first year the main ALMS race was on a Saturday, so I think that's part of the reason for the increased attendance. For me and the 'religious majority' of Utah it can be tough to make it out to a Sunday race. If you remember even Miller himself was famous for not attending Jazz games on Sunday as he talks about in his book (great read BTW). I think if ALMS was held on Saturday next year than more people will show up. Are there logistical reasons why they can't do it that way? Maybe because it's televised? I haven't watched it yet but I recorded it on SPEED.

I've spotted Stackhouse before too but haven't had the chance to introduce myself yet :)

Yeah I am surprised it's held on a Sunday as well. I figured that would be a no no. After the first year were the subsuquent races held on Sundays? I wonder why the change and if it will go back to a Saturday event.

One highlight of my trip was a chance to sit in the Rosso Dino Scuderia. Owner was very friendly and we talked for a bit. That particular car might be my exact favorite Ferrari!

Yes I'm pretty sure the first year it was Saturday and then Sunday every year after that. I know it's not always possible to do Saturday events and I'm fine with that but maybe it could help attendance in the future.

Back in 06' someone from Colorado brought their Bugatti Veyron. I think the pictures might still exist in the "Utah Spotters" thread. I also remember that is was 103 degrees that day at the race park. If I want 100+ degree plus weather I'll move to Southern Utah.
