I don't think I've ever seen that: all the P1 cars that finished were in front of all the P2s, who were in front of all the GT1s, who were in front of all the GT2s!

I know that's the way it's theoretically supposed to happen, but I cannot recall that ever actually being the case.

can anyone tell me the reason that the aston vantage is not running in gt-2? or, why is the porsche 997 turbo not running in gt-1? for gods sake, bring back the porsche turbos to duel with those fantastic corvettes!!!!

i really hope that alms thrives w/ the addition of bmw next year.

no, sadly i am quite removed from racing currently and reviewing the gcr is not going to happen. b-mak, can you give me the high points? based on your exclamations, is the turbo able to compete? if so, is there a team likely to emerge to campaign a turbo or will porsche support in any way?

The DB9 Vantage is a V8 and runs GT2 - Drayson-Barwell Motorsports -> Lord Paul Drayson (very interesting and very friendly chap at the autograph sessions) - (Competed in historic sports cars and single-seaters in 2004 and 2005. … Competed in 2005 Formula Palmer Audi. … Moved to British GT Championship in 2006 with Barwell Motorsport and placed sixth in GT3 class championship. … Also competed in Britcar endurance series. … Earned PhD in robotics at Aston University in 1985. ... Founded Powderject Pharmaceuticals in 1993 as a company to specialize in the production of vaccines. Served as CEO until 2003. Appointed to post as Minister of State for Defense Procurement in May 2005. … Former Chairman of the British BioIndustry Association. ... Chairman of the Oxford Children’s Hospital Campaign since 2002. ... Entrepreneur-in-Residence at the Said Business School, Oxford University since 2003).

I really must admire Paul Drayson for what he's doing. Spending this year in the US with his family, living in a motorhome, seeing the country, doing what he likes (motor racing), away from the parlimentary world, corporate world and enjoying life. Hats off to him and here's hoping he and Jonny Cocker (co-driver) will be back with ALMS in '09.

Terry Borcheller (and Chapman Ducote) are driving for Jim Bell - Bell Motorsports. They are running a DBR9 - the factory V12 race car . . .running in GT1.

Thanks for the very kind comment. One might say when you believe in something, you do what you can to share that info with others with similar interests. Some of the greatest folks in the world play a part in making ALMS and LMS racing available for us to enjoy.

    Thanks...Carol
