Is nobody an ALMS fan? I'm surprised with the 12 hours of Sebring, now less than a week away, nobody has said anything. I'd a thought someone would have mentioned Risi. I believe GT2 is going to be some of the best sports car racing around this year.

It seems that jk Knight (Carol) and I are about the only other ones interested in sportscar racing.

There's a few LM fans here. I went to Sebring and Petite LeMans last year. Can't go to Sebring this year, but Carol and Andreas will be there. We can't keep track of how many races Carol goes to.

Risi in the 430s have company with the Patron 430. Beautiful livery. Someone will start a Sebring thread at qualifying for sure.

I love the ALMS. I think it is the best combination of technology and competition in motorsports (along with its European counterparts). It is a shame it doesn't have a larger fan base.

Looking forward to sebring but sad that the Audis won't be there :(

I love GT2, I'm both a Porsche and Ferrari guy so I love seeing them go head to head.

If Audi were at Sebring I'd be there. I saw last year as a chance to get it off my list. I've never been to Watkins Glen. Thinking about it. Grand Am. After 30 years of race events I shed my final elitist racing bone Sunday. :D

The GT class, not GT2 anymore is not just Ferrari vs. Porsche. It's also Corvette and BMW. Anyone can win now.

yeah, forgot about the GT restructuring, but it's still only Ferrari and Porsche to me :)

Watkins Glen is on my list too, and would be worth it even if it's "only" Grand Am.

Carol trully is a fountain of knowledge when it comes to racing. I'm a big fan of ALMS, but rarely have anything interesting to say. :D I'll be attending this and Grand Am this year at Miller Motorsports Park, along with SBK and Ferrari Challenge.

The Lizards are gonna have a hell of a time holding back the vettes. Risi looks reasonably good but they seemed a bit off pace all last year.

These are my buddies. 50 miles away. Flew home from Sebring last year with them. Good luck Jon. He sitting upright and it says admitted for observation. Hope all is well but I doubt they can rebuild an entry.

I love ALMS, it was a great battle last year and should be again this year, I wish we had LMS coverage as well though. I know Risi merged with Krohn but will they still be using the same chasis that they have for the past million years? Not a bad chasis mind you...

I do not think that is the case. Risi will be using the new F430 GTE which has wider tires, more power (larger air restrictor opening) and better aero pieces. I will always pull for the Ferraris but you can't but not like the Corvettes. I was in the hot pits at Petit in 2008 besides Risi's pit and it was unreal when the Corvette came rumbling down the pit lane!!

Risi didn't merge with Krohn - other way around. Krohn only doing selected races with the other Risi 430.

Travis, thanks for the vote of confidence! Sebring and Petit will be our only ALMS races this year....headed across the pond to the LMS races except for the Algarve this year...it's replaced with the Hockenheim F1 race. Used to go to the majority of the ALMS races but that's when there were lots of entries to justify the cost of going to the events. I'm not much interested in the grid filler cars and a combined LMP class, no GT1 class. . .so what's left is basically a GT2 event. As always, I hope that Guiseppe and the guys come out on top - fantastic driver line-up this year (Melo/Bruni). The Melo/Bruni combo is running LMS for AF Corse this year too. Will miss not seeing Mika driving for the team.

Audi is testing in Florida with the updated R15. Very different front on it -> http://www.mulsannescorner.com/newsmarch10.html and here too -> http://www.endurance-info.com/version2/images/news/2010_Le_Mans_PremierePhotoR15plus.jpg

I think just about everyone who's running a 430 is running with the 2010 upgrades.

Haha, very true! We usually only come out this strong on race days! :)

The "R15 Plus" is pretty cool looking in the black livery. Definitely on my model build list when/if it's ever released!

I'll be there for the long beach GP, want to get paddock pass for Friday practice under the assumption it would be a good time for pictures unless anyone has any helpful tips.

Going to be my first time to see ALMS cars in action, CANNOT WAIT!

paddock pass is included with entry tickets for ALMS - grid walk is usually held about an hour prior to race start - not much up yet for LB - http://www.imsaracing.net/2010/events/long%20beach/longbeachinfo.cfm I'm not a fan at all of street courses, thus never been there, but it's my understanding that you are restricted there unlike all the other ALMS races. The ALMS race is Saturday starting at 4:15 pm. Also remember this is a sprint race - only 1 hr 40 min compared to the normal minimum of 2 hr 45 min; except for Laguna Seca and Petit which are longer races. Here's ticket info http://www.gplb.com/ticket_prices.html
