I do not think Alonso would be banned from testing before the season is over. It just doesn't make sense. When the season is over he will be banned from even coming near a Renault F1 car!

Alonso hurt his knee recently. He's letting it recover fully if i understand right. It could be that he's being frozen out but I doubt it.

He hurt his knee and was ok for Monza, but drove it with pain. Now they want to give him full time to heal.

You guys are unreal...Alonso is the current WC(the youngest in F1 history) and will likely be the 2006 WC as well. He appears to be a nice guy and the other F1 drivers all seem to like him(unlike your hero MS) I understand that this is a Ferrari dedicated forum, but some of you guys sound like Democrats...'he beat our guy so we hate him and he is a terrible human being'...that is hardly the way a true sports lover acts IMHO... I find Alonso a welcome and refreshing change in F1 and hope he wins 10 WCs...

I would agree with some of what you said, Alonso is an excellent driver, he is good for F1 and adds much excitement to the field, except I do not believe he will be world champion in 2006. Either his immaturity or emotions will defeat him. If can come to grips with this, he may have a chance for 2006.

Nor do I believe he will ever see more than another 2-3 championships in his racing career. There are way too many young drivers (i.e Kubica, Heikki, etc) coming on line that likely are even better than Alonso. I think even Raikkonen will have limited world championships for the same reason. Neither one of them has car development skills, they just show up and drive. With competition as it is, and will be, it will take a complete driver to win multiple championships in the future.

No one will ever come close to Michael Schumacher's many records, even if you cut them in half to account for the questionable criticism of limited competition over the last 10 years. From a skill standpoint, being a developmental driver, being able to put together a race team that supports you through thick and thin for a decade, Alonso is not even close to being a Michael Schumacher.

I get a laugh from the comments that Schumacher won his championships because he did not have much real competition during those years. To that I ask, do you think Alonso had real competition in 2005? My hypothetical question is, does anyone really believe that if Ferrari had successfully dealt with its tire problem early in 2005, that Alonso would be a world champion today? Or did he luck out and win in a year that there was no other reliable competition? I believe it to be the latter.

This is a Ferrari chat site, so I have nothing against those that wish to post their opinions against Alonso. Some are funny, some are silly, some are not based on fact. But one thing for sure, Alonso recently demonstrated complete stupidity and a lack of class with his public comments about Schumacher. Until he grows up, cleans up his own act, I personally do not believe he has the class to be world champion again.

FYI, Democrats are just incredibly unfocused, not so much terrible human beings. In the case of certain well known Republicans, as a Republican, I think they are in fact terrible human beings. But I guess that discussion is better suited to the Politics/Religion section?

My biggest problem with Alonso is his attitude....for a driver to say some of the things he has recently shows a dire lack of class not to mention a lack of respect for ones fellow competitors....sorry but he joins that Canadian rocker sometimes called a part time f1 driver who relied on the legend of his dad to get into F1....

I think Michael S. is the best driver ever, liked by fellow competitors or not. Tiger Woods isnt liked by everyone either, but he is the best golfer. Alonso is a very young excellent driver...and he is the defending WC and is leading MS so far. I wish Ferrari had signed him too to drive for them next year along with Raikonnen. I think both add a whoile lot to F1. I am a Ferrari fan, but Alonso is quite likeable and an excellent driver.

    Just my 2 c worth.

So your idea of a perfect F1 World Championship would be Michael, lapping tracks worldwide solo, without hindrance or competition from the "pieces of garbage"? Hell, he wouldn't even need a Rubens or Felipe to help his cause..

What excitement.. wait.. I mean "What excrement"

You hit the nail on the head: Often I'm thinking the hatred other drivers get on here is simply because they pose a real threat to yet another MS championship. It really seems that people want absolutely no competition for MS and just watch him win race after race. Strange.

Yet when MS was once given that scenario, basically an entire track at his disposal without any competing cars he managed to almost run into his teammate: USGP 05

Michael is the greatest racer of all time. he is the greatest F1 Champion ever.

He lapped all other racers because he was great and drove for the greatest team ever put together. Michael simply made it look easy! It is not his fault that he is the greatest racer ever!

The pieces of garbage you are refering to (Rubens, EI, DC, RS, JT) were all of the same class as Senna and Prost. Michael made them look mediocre at best!

Alonso is the biggest piece of garbage and excrement in F1 today!
It is time to send the excrement to NASCRAP in a to go box with fries!
