Yes Vettel clearly won in the best car in 2011 and 2013. In the latter stages of 2012 Vettel simply drove better than Alonso.

All we do know is that Alonso didn't better a rookie in 2007, in equal equipment. Make of that what you will

Bernie is guilty of some stuff, but not making F1 boring. Take that up with the designers of the cars intentionally putting **** on which disrupts the air behind the car which makes overtaking incredibly hard.

Bernie doesn't make the rules, FIA and FISA does. Bernie merely holds the TV/Advertising rights for Formula 1 and organizes the contract between FOTA and FIA. He stands to lose the most with boring races.

I"m a rabid MotoGP fan, but I disagree somewhat with your statement somewhat. I'd say NASCAR is 90% or more car. I'd say F1 is more 50/50. The car may be the best, but at the level of technology and performance, it takes something special to harness it and put it to good use. That's why I just simply disagree that you can put Alonso in the RB9 and just assume he'd dominate. Maybe he would... we'll never know.

In MotoGP, you had Stoner dominate with Ducati and Honda. Other riders could not do that at all. Rossi failed miserably at Ducati, he's showing signs of life back at Yamaha. I think there might be more variables in MotoGP simply because of what it is. There's no doubt that Honda has the dominant bike, but Jorge rides his ass off and finds ways to win. I'd argue that he's the best out there now. Pedrosa clearly has the bike and the development on his side for years, but yet he can't pull it out.. even on arguably the best machine.

I think its silly to act as if we know what would happen if the drivers were to switch cars, but I find that I like Alonso less and less each year. He comes across like a tennis player blaming the racket after each loss. I don't find Seb's finger stuff annoying at all. He's allowed to celebrate. If Alonso did it, I'm sure most of Seb's detractors would be putting their fingers up right along with him.
