Agree with you but i believe that if he leaves he will go to McLaren. If you ask my opinion i don't believe that he will leave until the end of his contract. The fact is that there is an open in his contract BUT it depends from Alonso if he leave or not.

Mclaren will be full up from the next guy they sign I reckon...this is Alonso's chance at his own team. Somewhat of a yes man in Magnussen, a guy whose quick but pretty accident prone so will have to yield for him.

If Mclaren Honda sign someone else, and Honda want a big name, that'll be a multiple year contract and that guy has the benefit of having a car designed to his liking more than Alonso's (Alonso is one of the few who wants a really understeery car).

If Alonso leaves, he'll go to Mclaren 2015. Mclaren Honda should really be a force in 2016 after Honda catches up fully and Mclaren's tech team has their roots set in properly. With Alonso steering the car that's a home run, I reckon.

The Italians have been far to fussy and there was no freedom in the team. With LdM being told to go play somewhere else and the installment of Mattiachi, this should change...but they're down a LOT of good people who they've lost to other (now thriving) teams. With Allison there it's a good start but they need more.

Key words are 2015. Im betting one more year, Honda appears, evaluate them and move on....

Maybe he got Ron to sign Button on for 1 more year and then make his decision.

Interesting link. Not too many rumors yet with LH out of Mercedes potentially. He does wear the flat bill nicely :)

Quite an interesting article; Alonso not looking to switch teams - AUTOSPORT

If he does move, I'm certain it won't be before the 2016 season. And if Ferrari can get their act together next season, he'll be there through 2016 too IMO.

    Cheers,
    Ian

Either that or its a shrewd PR move by his manager to relieve the focus of his status.....for now. FA is sly and clever he his most def keeping his options open. He should.
