It is "hypocritical", I am hypercritical.

And not pre-Ferrari, are we forgetting the incident in Jerez in 1997? One of the few races I went to, maybe that's why I remember. Schumi sees Villeneuve alongside him, thinking "hmmm you are not supposed to pass me, maybe I should accidently bump into you".

I´m not the biggest fan of Michael Schumacher, but I have to admit that his (many) faults were "passionate crimes" in the heat of the battle. This stuff of Piquet, Briattore et alter (if true) was organized, premedited crime. Probably worst.

Now I´m remembering the crash of Senna and Prost in 1990. Senna said the day before he was going to do it, he did it, and a year later he admitted that he´d done it deliberately. And nobody cared back then, no FIA investigation or whatever! Times are changing.

I disagree. Above anything, Schumi was a cold, calculating SOB. Not unlike a contract killer. He was so good at it that I actually grew to admire him, at least after Häkä retired.

Maybe, but in any case, his acts were not planned before the race (well, perhaps the parking at Monaco) and he was the only one to blame, not like the affair of Piquet.

I would guess that it's because there can't be any proof of who thought up the idea. If they deny it ever happened, it can be proven (beyond a reasonable doubt) that it did, then they are guilty of not only doing it, but lying to the FIA and they get roasted.

If they say it happened but it was PK's idea, they hope to get off lighter than otherwise.

Alonzo is a cancer. No driving talent ever, would be worth the drama that follows him.

I was wondering the same thing - I've seen nothing regarding the meeting. I hope it wasn't swept under the carpet.

Now that criminal charges are being discussed publicly (Yahoo sports this AM) might the reference become "witness for the prosecution"?

A lot tougher to prove and does anyone think that given his history FA doesn't have it in him to flip?
