I'd say that Kimi could have been quicker than Massa, had he wanted. Apparently, that was only the case for a short time. Kimi may outscore everyone in terms of raw talent, but the likes of Alonso, Hamilton, Vettel are the more complete drivers.

Kimi's on track work ethic seems to have improved since he returned. Phil's tanked after his accident.

This. I forgot who it was but someone said very recently that Kimi has been driving better since his return in F1. I hope he'll take the fight to Alonso good and proper, just to see Alonso have another 2007 episode :D. I just hope the Samurai doesn't carry swords....

It really will be an interesting year upcoming at Ferrari. I understand Freshmeat sentiments. I know FA probably means what he says about Felipe. I dont think we will see a melt-down at Ferrari. I believe that FA has matured and certainly Kimi will not be affected much at all.

The best pairing in F1 at the min IMO is Lewis and Nico, if Fred and Kimi come near those two Ferrari will be all the better for it, provided they get a car that suits them both.

    Compromise.
Best pair is Seb and Newey.

Not that RB is confident or anything but Adrian is skipping Japan.

I just read that article as Alonso saying there's nothing wrong with Massa's speed and that the only way for the drivers to get a better result is to get a better car.

    Nothing more or less.

The rest is your overactive imaginations.

    Haha ok :)

He can afford to skip races, he won't though he has the hunger to win everything it is plain to see.

Memo to 'Nando: You can't get inside Kimi's head. It's too hard.

Seb's race is half won at the end of Q3. Given How difficult DRS is to defend against, how tough it is to pass elsewhere and the benefit of running in clean air, pole has never been more of an advantage.

You may not be able to get inside Kimi's head, but you can lure him into a trap with some ice cream or a little vodka.....

One thing that came to mind though of all this is, if Kimi returns and wins in his 1st year back at Ferrari I would feel pretty bad for Alonso...can you imagine the anguish?

This will go one of two ways. If Alonso beats Kimi, nothing will happen..at all. If Kimi beats Alonso, it'll be fantastically entertaining and Alonso will leave or retire.

Sure Kimi will beat Alonso occasionally but I do now think Kimi is way overrated, especially for the most unmotivated driver on the grid ... Like Berger was, fast when the moon as in the right place or something.

Ferrari has returned to Alesi and Berger type driver line up ... another 15 or so years before the next WDC I reckon.

Alonso is too good for the current Ferrari team, but he is pretty much stuck there. Every other car other than the Vettel loving RB team is a piece of cr@p ... thus coming 2nd is all he can aim for. We all should really be praising him a lot more. The Ferraris produced by our team are considerably below the RBs and yet he struggles with them to 2nd every year ... I'd have given up.
