Well no one has any compassion I guess. Poor guy has been languishing in inferior equipment but driving the wheels off it to put himself and Ferrari behind Vettel and Redbull for 3years running.

If the tables were flopped I would still feel pretty bad for Seb as much as I am not a fan of his.

And simply mean that the Ferrari designers had finally made a competitive car again ... though will it tail off like the current car has this season.

Everyone is just jumping the gun. I think he's just trying to tell Ferrari that no matter who the drivers are, if the car sucks, then it doesn't make any difference.

This, and hard to criticize Fernando's comments when you look at the history of Phil and Kimi as team mates.

True. But we don't know what actually went down back then. The moment Massa was in the crash, Kimi started improving, and took the Scuderia's only win that season.

Agree. I hope Allison coming and a functioning wind tunnel will help the team.

Yep; because if one finish the Championship in 13th position with 16 pts, and the other in 14th with 12 pts, it would be hardly conclusive in any regard...

Probably the worst post in this thread.

Yeah, 52 wins and 3 WDC between the two is totally an Alesi/Berger lineup.

People are simple. Guys, you have to read between the lines with headlines like this. FA's comment was taken completely out of context. Keep in mind, Alonso throwing a fit is what the media WANTS him to do, and they're trying their damnedest to set it up. Many of you want it to happen too, but you're just going to end up disappointed after Alonso beats Kimi.

Ask ron Dennis about FA he might say it cost him 200 million pounds when he gets beat by a team mate . Ldm the clown is going to have keep fire extinguisher with him at all times. Fiat needs to keep wind tunnel off and keep fire department on speed dial .

I'm not too sure Allison's arrival is in time for next season. We will see. However, this is a chance for them to start on a clean slate.

Exactly. Fred Just wants a competitive car first and foremost. He's been driving his ass off since he's been at maranello. This 2014 Ferrari better be good!

Martin Whitmarsh has said on the BBC that all these: "McLaren want Alonso" stories have been made up by the press based on a deliberate misinterpretation of a question he was asked!

Basically, a journalist asked him: "Would you ever consider having Alonso back in the McLaren team?", to which Whitmarsh replied: "Of course we would! - Alonso is a World class driver! - Any team would love to have him on-board!"

He said on the record whilst talking to the BBC that at no point have McLaren been in contact with Alonso or made any approaches whatsoever with Alonso's management. As far as he's aware, Alonso has a long term contract with Ferrari and is not available, so there's no discussion to be had on the matter.

IIRC Ron Bloody Dennis even said sometime in 2008 that he wouldn't be surprised if Alonso was back at Mclaren at some point in his career. Says it all. Why would they refuse the best current driver (especially in their current state)??

I read Ron Dennis' statement as saying that you can never rule out anything in F1!

There are always plenty of good drivers in F1, but exceptional drivers are a lot rarer. At present there are three: Vettel, Alonso and Hamilton (& on occasions, when he's in the mood for it, Kimi makes it four!).

Any top team would be foolish to rule out having one of those drivers in their team if there was a possibility.

If McLaren were to say they'd never have Alonso again due to the 2007 season then it would be a classic case of cutting you're nose off to spite your face!

I'll give Martin Whitmarsh his due, he's acted very proper and responsibly about all the stories relating Alonso to McLaren and made every effort to be transparent about the lack of contact between the two parties.

Christian Horner could do with taking some notes on how Whitmarsh is dealing with it - He'd get a lot more respect if he handled things in a similar manner rather than attempting to spread false rumours as he does!
