When you can't beat 'em on the track then try the media ! This guy has given me evenmore reason to dislike him ! It seems that of late this is his only recourse - if I were Ron Dennis, I'd be thinking I have another JPM joining my team (remember the continual whining):

Here's the latest slamming of MS by a driver:

    Alonso slams 'unsporting' Schumacher

Michael Schumacher is the most unsporting driver in Formula One history, according to world champion Fernando Alonso.

Speaking on Monday night on his country's Radio Marca, the Renault driver was very critical of the seven-time world champion, who on Sunday announced his retirement from the sport at the end of the season.

"Zidane retired with more glory than Schumacher," said Alonso, referring to the French football player whose last game was marked by a red card following a controversial head-butt in the World Cup final this year.

"Michael is the man with the most sanctions and the most unsporting driver in the history of Formula One," added the Spaniard, who despite his criticism admitted that racing against the Ferrari driver had been an honour.

"That doesn't mean he hasn't been the best driver, and fighting against him has been an honour and a pleasure," Alonso said.

An angry Alonso was very critical of Formula One last weekend after the race stewards penalised him for blocking Schumacher's teammate Felipe Massa during qualifying.

Alonso was relegated to tenth position on the grid and then suffered further misery when he retired from the race with a broken engine. Schumacher won the race to reduce the gap to Alonso to just two points.

The Spanish driver admitted that, after the penalty, the thought of not racing crossed his mind.

"You think about not racing, but it goes away quickly once you put your helmet on," Alonso added.

"I was one hundred percent sure that I could win the race from anywhere on the grid, to keep on scoring points and finish in front. What I'm sure about is that he who laughs last laughs longest."

Despite his anger, the world champion still believes he can win the title, and said he doesn't agree with his team boss Flavio Briatore's claims that the championship has already been handed to Schumacher.

"I don't agree with Flavio. They haven't given the title to Schumacher already. It's true there have been a lot of decisions against some and in favour of other but that's it."

    Carol

With this behavior, it tends to reinforce my allegiance back to sports car racing where it's all about the fans and drivers drive the cars (I'm not saying there's not any bickering - witness Corvette and Aston; Dyson and Audi but . . .the weight/fuel penalities accepted and on with racing. . .) - it most certainly would be a special day for me to see Ferrari make a factory return to the endurance racing scene - hint, hint Michael?!?!? There's already been talk about LMS going "worldwide to four continents" but obviously the major hurdle is that of $$$ - let's hope it comes to fruition.

And all this is evolving into one of the most dramatic and exciting ends to an F1 season in years.

Endurance racing? 10 days to the best of it in the US.

What a whiney little *****. What exactly prompted this? Is he mad that his motor blew up? The penalty in qual was wrong but how is that Schumacher's doing? Alsono, still to driving, at least you're good at that.

i'm #1 tifosi and i gotta agree. what did he say wrong? he can't be negative the day after he lost probably one of the most important races of his life under a cloud of controversy? give the man a break. i love micheal and ferrari, but they are some proven cheaters. i thought fa was downright controlled under the circumstances, and also considering his age and maturity level in f1. look at jaques. fa really did get jacked in qualifying-twice. it's really got to burn you up when one of the guys deciding your fate is an italian named enzo. he should be happy that he was able to get massa back with the james bond move though.

Just how does it make Schumacher unsportsmanlike, even *if* the stewards were "conspiring against" Alonso?

This call was by the track stewards, not by Schumi, and not by Bernie/Max.

If you're going to stoop to flaming, at least light the right fire.

FA is an ass. The only questionable thing I saw MS do this year is possibly park his car in Monaco on the track during quailifying. We still do not know for sure. On the other hand I saw FA purposely try to injure Dornbos.

All the other controversial racing incidences are born from fierce competitiveness from both FA and MS, not from intentionall cheating.

Alonzo's comment about Zidane proves he is OK with intentionally trying to hurt someone else. Dornbos's next team better hire a bodyguard driver for him. Who knows what Alonzo will do if he looses the DWC.

I would say that the comment that "Zidane retired with more glory than Schumacher" is not true.

The praise given to Schumacher by the Italian press on September 11, not to mention most of Europe, makes that statement rather inaccurate. Ultimately, most people forgot about Senna's foibles, they will forget about Schumacher's.

If true, I find this curious:

And all the complete bandwagon Alonso fans (apparently along with Alonso himself) that disregard all of his Doornbos incidents? I'm no Schumacher fan, but the blatant double standards he's held to in relation to his direct competition is silly.

I should add, Alonso is an excellent driver, but he should have taken a pass and shown some class and not made public these opinions. He lowered himself to a Villeneuve status.

The penalty he received in Monza did not seem appropriate, and I can understand his anger if what the stewards viewed was the same that we viewed on our TV monitors. But then neither was it appropriate the way both he and Fisi were beyond their respective starting boxes prior to the green lights. Consider a penalty may have been assessed either way. Maybe a second penalty was not assessed Alonso to avoid additional uproar?

My point is I do not think Renault's shorts are any cleaner than Ferrari's.

That is Alonso's opinion and he is entitled to it; you can't say he is right or wrong, you can only agree or disagree.

Having prefaced my comments, I can tell you Michael at times does lose his head-but so did Senna (running Prost off the road Japan 1990) but Michael holds all the important records in Formula One so all you whiners can sod off.

Alonso, on the other hand, has shown me that he is a great driver but his ego has gotten way out of proportion to his talent; at best I put him third behind KR and MS. We all know that if the McLaren had been reliable KR would have been champion last year. Would love to see a young stud (or MS?!) at McLaren pushing him. He's not handling the pressure well-at Hungary he showed me alot-and he also brake checked MS at Hungary.

For thoses morons who think that Alonso's engine was sabotaged please be advised that MS finished every race in 2002-and he was on the podium for every one of them. Ferrari engine reliability is far better than Renault's...

    Formula One records

As of the 2006 Italian Grand Prix, Michael Schumacher holds the following F1 records:

    Career Records:

    Most championship titles: 7
    Most consecutive championship titles: 5
    Most race wins: 90
Most consecutive race wins: 7 (in 2004 - European GP, Canadian GP, United States GP, French GP, British GP, German GP, Hungarian GP; shared with Ascari)
Most race wins with one team: 71 with Ferrari
Most race wins at the same GP: 8 at the French Grand Prix (Magny-Course)
Most time between first and last race wins: 13 years, 11 months, and 3 days
    Most second place finishes: 43
    Most podium finishes: 153
Most consecutive podium finishes: 19 (from the 2001 United States Grand Prix, until the 2002 Japanese Grand Prix)
    Most points finishes: 188
Most laps leading: 4726 (in 130 Grand Prix with a total of 22,072.693 km)
    Most pole positions: 68
Most starts from first row: 108
    Most fastest laps: 75
Most doubles (pole position and race win): 40
Most hat-trick (pole position, race win and fastest lap): 22
    Most championship points: 1,354
Most consecutive race finished without retirement: 24 (from the 2001 Hungarian Grand Prix, until the 2003 Malaysian Grand Prix)
Only racing driver ever, in any racing class, to win 5 times at Indianapolis Motor Speedway

    2004:

Most race wins in a season: 13 (out 18 races)
Most fastest laps in a season: 10 (out of 18 races; tied by Räikkönen in 2005)
Most championship points in a season: 148 (out of a maximum of 180)

    2002:

Most podium finishes in a season: 17 (out of 17 races)
The one major record Schumacher is set to miss out on is the record for most Grands Prix competed in. His final race will be his 250th so he will finish 6 short of Riccardo Patrese's record of 256.

I don't agree at all. Firstly, there is never a justification for throwing a temper tantrum and lashing out like a child messing up the pieces on the checkers board. Second of all, Alonso is no angel himself so he shouldn't be thrown stones from his crystal palace.

I don't care what FA says to the press. I'm surprised that in this day and age, people get easily offended about what one person says to another. And that people still take great offense to the middle finger (or thumb depending on where you live). He can say whatever he wants. You don't have to listen or care if you do hear it. As far as I'm concerned, he's leading the WDC and has a fast car with 3 races left. That speaks more to me.

The only move MS has made this season that I thought was intentional and unsporting was his stunt at Monaco during qualifying, other than that Alonso has made his own fortune. The penalty he received this weekend wasn't MS's fault so I don't see why he should lash out at him. I agree that it is looking a little bit fixed with reguards to some of the penalties he's receiving, but him turning into Villeneuve #2 isn't helping the matter. I haven't been following F1 for very long, but the way Villeneuve exited the sport (MS bashing) put a negative light on his career, which is just what Fernando is doing now. I'm not saying that his complaints are unfounded or wrong, but he needs to stop complaining about things that aren't going to change either way and save some face.

FA is entitled to his opinion. He does sound like sour grapes at this point and would be better off putting a sock in it. I think he is talented and has show quite a bit of maturity since he's been in F1. The penalty did suck and maybe he feels the fix is on.
The best thing for him to do is win races and let other's do the name calling.
