I was sure Piquet would go, he really couldn't have done much worse.

P.S. $10,000 says that's not a real quote from Flavio.

Because Flavio and Piquet sr. are friends, and Alonso wants an uncompetitive teammate.

Looks like Alonso signed a 2 year extension, funny how that coincides when Raikkonen's Ferrari contract is up!

funny how his 2 year contract coincides perfectly with Kimi's contract with ferrari!

I can't believe they're sticking with Piquet he's been god awful for most of the year.

Nelson has been given another chance, but he is required to perform much better in 2009 and Renault hired Romain Grosjean as the official 3rd driver, meaning that Piquet knows he may be shown the door anytime.

Interesting part about the Alonso/Renault contract is that it will be reevaluated every year, meaning Fernando could leave if he wanted. Basically they're leaving the door open for him to join Ferrari if Maranello calls.

    Here's still hoping.

    LOL!

That's probably what it would boil down to and likely the reason Piquet Jr. got another season. Courtesy of Fernando's fragile ego.

    Yes, please.

Actually, as much flack as Kimi gets, I really like him. Kimi and Alonso would also be just fine with me. Then again, I've grown to like Massa more and more this year, too.

well, Alonso and Vettel is a disaster, IMO. we all know what Vettel is capable of. if Alonso can't handle Hammi, then what do u think will happen with Vettel. Vettel and Kubik seems the best option for long term. Kubik is frustrated by the lack of commitment at BMW, and at Ferrari, everyone gives their best, so i won't be surprised to see him move over soon in the near future.

I'm very happy that Fernando is staying with Renault for 2 years. This will create a lot of stability in the team and the testing he will do with the car after the first of the year will pay off immediately. In all honesty, I can see him winning the next two WDCs with Renault in 2009 and 2010. I really hope he sticks it to Hammy. If he does decide at that time that he wants to move to Ferrari and they want him there, I'm sure he will demand contractual #1 driver for the team, and if he wins another WDC before then, I think Ferrari would be fools to turn him down.

I just hope they go back to the French blue and yellow cars line in 2005 & 2006. Those were really sexy cars.

Fred, Hammi, Massa, Kubik, Kimi...imagine all those names challenging for the WDC next year :D

I loved the Renault's in the blue and yellow, the new ING livery looks like someone threw up on them and then plastered "ING" wherever there was space to fit it. IMO the R26 is one of the best looking cars in the past few years.

Well, in fact those cars were not blue because they were French, but because a Japanese tobacco brand paid for that.

It would be great a yellow, black and white car, just like in the 80´s.
