http://www.planet-f1.com/story/0,18954,3213_2612165,00.html Winning wasnt enough. Just had to show his whiny arse! Following Sunday's European GP, Felipe Massa and Fernando Alonso were involved in little spat. The duo clashed in the final laps of the Nurburgring race as Alonso took the victory away from Massa. The result of a dent in Alonso's car and a rather annoyed Spaniard. Here's the full transcript... Alonso: You did it intentionally, as in Barcelona. Massa: No, I did not. Alonso: You broke my sidepod there - go and have a look at it! Massa: Go f**k yourself!. You won and you say something like this. Alonso: Mate, it can't break itself. Alonso: I have fought with Heidfeld, with everybody, what you did with three laps to go can't be done. Massa: He wins and says that. You must learn. Alonso: It is you who has to learn. I have fought with everybody and with three laps to go, we touch! Massa: Bravo. Alonso: Bravo you! Massa: You say that I did it on purpose, like I did that on purpose in Barcelona?. You were remained behind. (As this point Ron Dennis steps in) Dennis: Boys calm down. Massa: Tell him to!
I´ve seen a lot of different translations of this. Each one with more #¬?##¢@!!! than the previous one.
Ffft. Alonso's ok in my book. I just wonder when Ferrari will clue in and remove the blue flag on Massa's nose cone.
true. adds some spice i remember there was a clip i watched on youtube, when a drivers started to punch or kick the other...
While Massa has not learned how to drive in the rain as well as MS, he has seemed to pick up the MS habit of running into an opponent you can't beat fair and square...so sad...
Go Massa! Good, I'm tired of Alonso thinking that because he's the WC everyone's going to give him the season on a silver plate. He complains that his team isn't behind him. He complains because people don't let him by. Whatever, Massa proved that he's not going to be pushed aside. He's not intimidated by him, and Sunday I think he spoke what a lot of the drivers would have liked to with the " go fnck yourself comment." I'm glad to see him showing passion.
No one is at fault here, this is motor racing. FA realized later that he was wrong in accusing FM of running into him intentionally and has already apologized. No need to make this out more that what it really is. Ironically, FA fans seem to lack the ability to think rationally like FA himself.
so what...good for the otherwise lackluster sport. this has a feel of the good ole prost senna days. this is shaping up tho be the best f-1 season that we have seen for some time. Keep it up boys! pcb
Zoom A bit of uneasiness on the Nürburgring podium According to Agence France-Presse, European Grand Prix winner Fernando Alonso accused Felipe Massa of deliberately hitting his car during the duel that opposed both drivers at the end of Sunday's race on the Nürburgring track. A few minutes before the traditional ceremony, Ferrari's Felipe Massa approached McLaren's Fernando Alonso and shook his hand in the room adjacent to the podium. The folllowing conversation ensued in Italian. FA: "You can't do things like that." FM : "What are you talking about?" FA: "Don't play smart with me, you know very well. You hit me on purpose, you turned the wheel to push me off." FM : "What? Go f--k yourself!" FA : "You f--k off! Next time I'll push you into the wall." Alonso, decidely in a provocative mood, turned and smiled at the live TV camera as Massa walked away very upset, his dark mood still quite apparent during the podium ceremony. Once tempers had calmed down as the post-race FIA press conference began, Fernando Alonso admitted that he had over-reacted. "We touched each other two times and I apologise to him (Massa) because I was so stressed when I finished the race because we nearly didnt finish the race. Now I try to enjoy the victory and forget everything," the Spaniard said as he sat next to Massa, quickly touching his neighbour's forearm in a friendlier gesture. The Brazilian was still somewhat flared however: "I was really surprised when he came to say that I did that on purpose. I would never do something like that on purpose. Like I said in Barcelona, it was normal, here it was normal and it's going to be like that. So if he was a little bit unhappy, it's not my problem." "With Felipe at the end it was close but as I said before, I apologise if I said anything to him, because it's motor racing and it's a fight," added Alonso. "We finished the race, so I don't want to talk any more about this and I want to enjoy the win," he stated, wishing to close the matter. Prompted by the assembled journalists, Alonso returned to the delicate subject a few minutes later. "I was not too happy at the end of the race because we touched each other but now, five minutes later on the podium I realised that this is motor racing, so I will not talk any more," he repeated. The subject seemed to be closed for Massa also: "If somebody tells me something I did wrong and I didn't, I will be unhappy. That is normal. But if he has apologized, then that's fine. He knows he was not right after the race." Bad tempers and apologies on certain occasions, both are a part of motorsports... Daniel BASTIEN © CAPSIS International
That was Nelson Piquet's lame attempt of punching out Eliseo Salazar at the German GP in 1982 when he was taken out, thanks to that move, Patrick Tambay in the Ferrari won the race that weekend.
Like a few people said, no big deal. Racing incident, even though Fernando did have a nose on Massa when Phil turned in. Intentional? Only Phil knows for sure. One can understand why Alonso would think so. Also Massa had the right to be upset that Alonso to think that he did it on purpose if he didn't. They both overracted afterwards and later worked it out. Did we even need another thread on this subject?
It would have been good even if he hadn't used profanity. I wasn't praising his choice of words, just the fact that he didn't bow out to FA and wasn't intimidated by him. I'm praising the fact that Massa is turning into a passionate personality, he obviously want's to win and IMO he's much more of a championship personality than FA.
Hmm...Italian. I didn't know that Alonzo, spoke Italian. What use would he have for learning Italian? Was he on an Italian Team, before? Maybe something in his Future? Just a thought, can The Scuderia, race a third car? Nevermind the enormous costs? What do ya think, guys? Ciao...Paoo
not fair at all u have no proof whatsoever ron dennis said it was an racing accident himself! haug the same fia thought as such and therefore didnt even investigate proof is in the pudding as far as ms goes u have to remember that ms started f1 10yrs earlier than these guys and racing was more like that back then -senna purposely ran prost off the track for the championship and admitted to doing so!!!!!!!!!! -zero penalty!!!!!!!!! -senna punches irvin in the face for just unlapping himself -zero penalty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -ms is more than smart enough to know when in rome.......
