Whenever the going gets tough, Alonso cracks. He has a very hot temper and a huge ego. He can't take not winning - but unlike some drivers who just push to improve more, he whines about it.

This "calm cool collected" Alonso, I dont know where that came from. The only time I've ever seen him particularly calm and collected is when he held off Schumi for 20 or so laps. Other than that, I've seen him very visibly shaken when he can't win. He lashes out at anyone and everyone.

Can you even imagine the balls and gall of a driver swerving towards the pit lane to 'send a message' to his team? What kind of whiny b*tch would do that? Whenever he can't get the job done it's the car or the team's fault. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. Thats why he goes off-track pretty consistently when the going gets tough.

 

Equal chance for Alonso to have a DNF. If he does, watch the sparks FLY! It will be a conspiracy between Whitmarsh and Dennis to keep the spaniards down!

F1 is about being consistently good. Hamilton has been much more consistent and overall a fair bit better than Alonso. Given they have equal hardware, I don't see Alonso overcoming this deficit unless Hamilton suffers a stroke of bad luck. But given that Alonso has made many more mistakes than Hamilton this year, and given that Alonso has shown the pressure gets to him (and Hamilton has not), I think Alonso has a much higher chance of some problems taking down his WDC chances than Hamilton.

I hope that happens so we can see Alonso go into full meltdown mode.

You can either read that or simply view the video of Schumacher at Monza. This is not a man who retired willingly.

 

Cracks, as in makes a mistake? How many mistakes did he make in 2005 & 2006? Seriously, I want a number.

He beat Kimi & then Schumi for the WDC. Please. When it matters, he is very calm. The sort of calm that allows you to win two WDCs.

When did he pretty consistently go off track besides the last two races?

 

I tend to agree.

I´d like to see Hamilton in the hunt for Alonso, in stead of vice versa. We have seen that Hamilton doesn´t feel all that pressured when being pushed by Alonso, but how will it be the other way around? Last time Hamilton was chasing Alonso, we were in Monaco. The track doesn´t suit overtaking AT ALL and Alonso was guaranteed the win by his team.

On the remaining tracks, all things are equal for the McLaren boys, and once Hamilton is pushing Alonso, Alonso either sucessfully holds of Hamilton, cracks under pressure and makes a mistake, or gets overtaken by Hamilton in a direct duel and suffers huge loss of reputation.

Massa showed aggression all weekend, even during practice he did not give up anything.

 

It is only 10 points, that can change in a single race. You make it sound as if Alonso is incapable of winning.

I will freely admit that I think Hamilton is the next great driver and will almost certainly eclipse Kimi and Alonso in the next few years. However Alonso has already been through two WDC campaigns and knows what the pressure is like, Hamilton has not and the pressure on Hamilton will intensify as the season goes on. I can't understand how some of you expect Alonso to melt down when he has already withstood two pressure-packed championship seasons? Why would you think this season to be any different?

If anything, I would wondr how Hamilton fares as the pressure intensifies. This is his first season in the spotlight, Alonso has been through this twice before. You can't discount experience.

Regardless, I am very excited at how this seaosn is develoing. All we need is for Ferrari to get back into the fray and we are going to have a very exciting finish!

 

So much BS comes out of the many mouths of F1 but the vid doesn't lie...maybe he was 'cooling' his right fist.
