Here is one for you. The Service manual is not real clear on this, so I felt I would field this to the many tech savvy owners out there.

During some recent repairs to Vesper (my 2003 360 Spider) it was determined that my Battery Cutoff switch in the Frunk (front trunk) is not working. After further investigation, I have determined that all wires are connected, both to the negative terminal on the battery and both wires on the cutoff switch. So my assumption is the switch has gone bad.

    Now for my questions:

    1) Is my assumption accurate or is there something else that I am missing?
    2) If the switch would need to be replaced, it seems just two screws hold the switch in place (located beside the turning knob); however, disconnecting of the wires behind the switch seems very tricky (I see a lost washer or two potential). I checked the service manual it talks about removing the wipers and the cowl cover, but I don't see where the cowl separates or if it indeed does. There are a number of screws in the cowl, but I am wondering if those are just holding the cabin filter assembly.

Can someone chime in and offer some guidance before I tear the front end of my car half apart and get over my head. Or should I just yield to the professionals on this switch replacement.

Thanks in advance for the guidance!

it's tight in there.... but doable. basically you take off the panel under the windshield wipers. Takes about 15-20 minutes or so, you have to remove wipers and support the hood. it's on the left side. once the black panel is off you can test the contacts and remove it if needed. Really not that bad...

Sorry, Curt! Forgot to say thank you for your response on this. Since I just had new sealant put on the cowl, I am going to undertake this at my next annual in February.

Always appreciate your advice. (Let's see that is now two beers and a half dozen oysters at Pearlz that I owe you now???? Just put it on my tab.)
