Sunday morning 8:30 AM - ? at the Long Wharf in Sag Harbor. This is the first of what hopefully will become a weekly event.

So, maybe some of you FChatters would like to head out east for a change. Maybe make a day of it, get breakfast after, wine tasting in the afternoon, etc..

    Weather permitting of course.

LOCATION: Long Wharf dock, Sag Harbor, NY (end of Main Street)
    TIME: Sunday mornings 8:30 AM - ?
    MAP: http://www.mapquest.com/maps/%5B1-3%5D+Main+St+Sag+Harbor+NY+11963/?

Also, possibly a rally (scenic drive) later in the spring.

    Anyone interested?

If you guys are out that way, try to make the Run Out East (ROE) gathering at Pindar on 5/17. More details to follow.

I wouldn't say its never going to happen. It very well can happen as there are a lot of car guys out here, especially in the summer time. They may want to do a get together that is carefree and informal as opposed to say a charity type get together. I would think saturday mornings would be better. Sag harbor gets busy though near the wharf and not sure if there is enough parking or if it gets out of hand im sure the cops will put an end to it, but hey it should be tried out.

Sunday mornings are quieter here. That's why I think it would be best, rather than Saturday. There's plenty of parking on the Long Wharf , and it should not interfere with the local shops on Main St..

I remember years back, when the Bridgehampton Race Circuit (for history see : http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html?res=990DE1DB123DF931A35756C0A96F958260 )was still open, the Ferrari guys would rent the track sometimes, and there would be a great gathering of F-cars on Main St. Sag Harbor Sunday mornings, for breakfast at the Paradise restaurant. So, there already exists a tradition and historical significance to this place.

There are many exotics here on the east end, and it would be nice to have a place where people can share there passion for fine cars of all types. Several weeks ago while driving through Sag Harbor I came accross a 1966 Jag XJ-13 replica. What an outstanding automobile! (more jag info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jaguar_XJ13 )

I just feel that the Hamptons should have some kind of car show. We have the Hamptons Classic Horse Show, the Polo matches, etc... I think maybe a "Hampton's Concours d'Elegance" is not far away. What do you think? There are some outstanding car collections out here in the hamptons, from what I've heard.

Also, the Long Wharf would make an outstanding background for pics, when all the yachts are at dock.

I just saw that Jag replica last Friday passing through Bridgehampton. It looked and sounded great indeed.

You do know of the "concours" that Kensington puts on?
But I tend to agree there should be something big with all the car collections going on.
When are you planning to start this informal gathering at Sag Harbor?? now or when it gets warmer?

It's a great area for a car meet, but you might struggle getting a weekly car meet.

    Either way, good luck :)

    Hey Rich,

Would love to do another rally with you. Keep us posted if something materializes.

If the Sunday thing sticks I'll try to make it now and then. Good idea.
