This is a very simple idea to use Birdman's excellent mat grabbers as a bracket. I bought a piece of metal strip of the right width at the DIY shop and cut it to size. I bent the two ends so they would grab Birdman's grabbers. The fire extinguisher holder is secured by two screws (only needed to drill two holes in the metal strip). I used spacers so that the strip won't bent under the weight of the extinguisher.

I think the pictures speak for themselves.

    Best regards, Peter

    p.s. also installed Birdman's fuseboxes. What a difference! Adds 20 BHP! ;)
