    Here's a pretty good overview of what it does;

    http://www.apple.com/appletv/

    Obviously, what it doesn't do isn't detailed...... Ricambi Daniel will hopefully be along soon as he's got one, but ultimately replaced it with a Mac Mini as a "media server" with a lot more functionality than the TV. He posted some of the differences previously, but depending on your needs these may not be significant to you.

    Cheers,
    Ian

    Well what i have is the apple tv 2 jailbroke and it is the best thing ever as far as tv is concerned. You need a fast internet conection and away you go. Probably every tv series ever made and way to many movies including new ones. Wife just watched all of the lost series begining to end with no commercials and i am working my way throught the all of the battlestars new and old. The best as it is free to watch and the worst is no live tv like football or soccer. The network tv shows are usually on a day later. I cancelled my sat as the apple is better and free.

    Currently I use a Sony PS3 running a Netflix account. I did however look into a Roku box for the other room but haven't bought it yet. Just make sure you have a fast internet connection.

    its a nice little box well built and attractive compared to roku. But roku gives you a bit more freedom and is nearly half price that said a buddy who owns one did have some issues with it. I used to use my xbox 360 for netflix etc. currently enjoy directv while expensive the ability to record tons of shows and watch throughout the house without worrying about internet reliability and data usage is quite nice

    Apple TV is neat. The future possibilities of it interest me more than what it currently offers though.
