Alternator belt replacement on my Ghibli

    I found a 95A Bosch alternator but in the replacement phase of this seemingly easy project, I noted that the alternator belt has a huge divot. Luckily, I found this significant defect while the car was on the lift, and not on the road. With two belts forward of this, is there any easy way to replace that belt? It looks like a real (substitute female dog, here) to do. Any short cuts or words of wisdom (other than take it to a shop!)? thanx s

    Not that dificult. Just loosen the idler pulley for the two A/C pump belts and the Alternator belt will fit between the crankshaft pulley and the belts. You do not have to take them off but even if you do it is not difficult because there is so much throw on the idler pulley.

    Eugene, thanx again. I got the old belt off and will go to my FLAPS tomorrow for another. steve

    Eugene, for $8 at O'Reilly, I got the correct Gates belt and it's installed. thanx again. steve
