My Mondial-8 alternator belt squeals and I was wondering... Do later Mondial's and 308's use a wider belt and pulleys? If they do, I could swap out the alternator pulley, water pump pulley, and crank pulley and install a wider belt and kill the problem permanently with a minimum of effort.

Mine is the earliest version Mondial with the smallest alternator, 7mm x 975mm belt.

What size is the belt on the later cars?

No, they all use the same Gates 7M "Polyflex" (IIRC) cross-section. Circa '84 they went to separate belts for the Alt and WP to help with the issue -- see:

Thanks! Dang, I wish I'd known about the Ferrari upgrade a month ago when I had the engine out.
